I can't wait to do my consol's and then start jumping with others!!!
-
Awesome DZ with the best views in the country. Such a friendly place which is why i started there. 2 PLA's - north and south - south you need a B licence to jump there. Can be a bit of a pain if the winds are wrong but hey i passed my aff there in 5 weeks. I've been to Cerney once - i did my first tandem there in 2007. You should try and pop down to Swansea - you will have a ball!! -
Hi there - where is your home DZ - I've just completed my AFF at Swansea.
-
Of course i did - lots of it!!
Hopefully i will owe more soon when i get my A lic!! -
Well i've done it - who says you cannot skydive with a serious neurological condition.
Loved every minute of my aff and now i plan to bust my consol's as quick as possible
Blue skies all -
Well i finally did it!!
Got to the dz at 8:30 am and waited around all day - the winds were wrong and finally around 5pm we got the nod that we were on the last lift of the day. Was way nervous by this point - busted it totally.
Now the fun starts - consol's to do then the fun will really start.
Can't wait.
Blue skies -
Well the tunnel helped so much.
Got my level's 4,5 and 6 last weekend. 1 more to go!!
I need to work on my exits though - i did a solo exit but the way i was told to do it - kneel in the door and spring off my left leg - the problem is my left leg is quite weak - it resulted in me falling out as opposed to diving out - but hey ho i got stable within 5 secs so no real drama.
hopefully i'll get my last level in this weekend.
Blue Skies -
Well i managed 30 mins in the wind tunnel yesterday - great fun - i feel so much more confident now - by the end of my time i was flying stable able to increase and decrease fall rates and my turns were great by the end. I now just need to hit the skies tomorrow hopefully - the forecast is looking good!!
-
I think you are spot on - when the instrucor released me i was stable for about 10 secs then i started wobbling and instead of trying to relax i fought it and must have gone tense. Hopefully the tunnel time will sort this out.
-
Well so far so good - passed levels 1,2,3 - all in 1 day - i was so chuffed.
Then bad weather set in. I had to wait a week to do level 4 - that didnt go so well - i had a good exit but when the instrutor rewleased me i started to get a bit unstable and instead of relaxing and arching i tried to recover it and went quite stiff - needless to say i failed level 4. I'm now going to a wind tunnel next week for 30 mins to sort out these issues - my legs are the cause of most of my problems - so i guess practice is needed.
Hope to post some better news in 10 days time!! -
Did my level 4 jump last Sunday - good exit - stable position - my insrtuctor released me and then i got a bit uinstable and tried to fight it - totally wrong thing to do - ended up failing this level - I'm now going to a tunnel next Weds - ive booked 30 mins to sort out my position - in particular my legs - then im going to go back to my dz and hopefully bust those last few levels.
Gutted but looking forward to some tunnel time. -
What a weekend!!
Did my aff tandem Sat am then the bloody wind shifted and grounded all of us students - still a great day at the DZ just no further jumps.
Sunday was a different matter - Got 3 jumps in - passed levels 1,2 and 3.
Hopefullly ill be doing level 4 on Saturday. The only slight problem i have is making sure i keep my legs out as they tend to want to stay at 90 degress. I'll work on that.
What a feeling skydiving on your own up there - totally Awesome!!!! -
My MS is fairly constant - i tend to have 1 relapse per year which is unknown as per what abilities i lose. Recently my legs went but i'm back on my feet now and started running again 2 weeks ago. I think it's just my confidence that is lacking due to the condition - i have minor balance issues etc but overall I'm pretty fit. I just can't wait to start now - ground school day tomorrow and Saturday for my aff 1 and possibly more - blue skies are here this weekend!!! :) -
Hi there mamboguy - I'm like you - i did 3 tandems and became hooked. my aff starts this Friday and i can't wait!!!! -
hi Ken - it's great to actually meet someone like myself. I have loads of questions!!
How fit were you when you started skydiving.
I have relapsing remiting ms and have a relapse a year for my first 4 years. My legs went 8 months ago but im now back on them and just did my third tandem 2 weeks ago. My groundschool is starting this Friday.
My big question i suppose is can someone with MS Skydive to a decent level -
that's the only way i know!!
My groundschool starts this Friday - i cant wait!!!! -
Ive just the day at my dz catching tandems and generally helping out. What a day - was told that my groundschool starts this Friday!!!!
I can't wait!!!! -
Well ive just heard from my instuctor - my course will be starting within the next 2 weeks hopefully!!
I can't wait!!!!
How do you guys and girls live with the excitement.....
It's all i think about at the mo......... -
I've done 3 tandem skydive's for charity and each time i land i say i must do my aff but upon reflection and a day or two on the ground i realise that i could not do skydiving on my own due to my MS. Just did my third tandem last week and now i say bollocks to my MS - I'm starting my AFF in 2 weeks and cannot wait!!!!! -
Hi all - I'm a newbie - about to start my AFF level 1 and was wondering if there are any skydivers out there with MS.
