It was awesome, painful, amazing, and really long. All 27 of us that finished (2 left Sat night) have similar stories but here is my brief play log... 16 hours of play, 4 rest (3 I slept) then 11 hours of ball, 2 of sleep then I caught for 14 hours and 45 mins for my last "shift". I got to bat over 140 times, and we played 200 innings. Each umpire (registered) had to work 4 hour nonconsecutive shifts and sign in and out of a log book. We had to have official witnesses rotate every 4 hours as well. We had to keep a scorebook (ugly looking by the end lol) and all of this just to satisfy Guiness... oh and we had video of the whole event with the official score clock in the frame of the video, again Guiness req. What a blast we had, and holy hell were we a sad looking bunch by the end, but we did it.Travis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off -
Whats up all, haven't been round here in a while but I just wanted to share this with anybody who will listen lol
Two weekends ago 27 determined athletes (myself included) took part in Breaking a Guinness Book World Record by playing one baseball game for 48 hours 32 minutes and 45 seconds. The record had previously been set at 48:09:27 in St. Louis by 40 players. This record was no easy feat, the two team’s red and blue, each sponsored by the Rutland Country Store, and had to start playing in the rain Friday July 29th. Within the first 8 hours Mother Nature had surprised the teams with a really dense fog that followed the rain from Friday evening. As the batters addressed home plate and made contact with the incoming pitch every player in the field would crouch down and take cover under their gloves until the familiar thud of the ball landing sent the "all clear" for the game to continue.
"It was magical to play in such dense fog under the lights" says one of the athletes at the Barre Rec. Field in Barre Vermont. Each of the two teams struggled to find motivation and energy to complete the mission of playing over 48 hours of baseball. Saturday morning with each hour that passed the teams grew weaker and more exhausted. It was 24 hours into the record attempt when it seemed as if a wave of enthusiasm shook the field, "we knew this would be a turning point" and it was indeed. The record was bound to fall with the determination of this group, and on Sunday July 31st in Barre Vermont a new Guinness World Record was set. 27 of the original 29 players did what in 2009 40 players had done, played over 48 hours of America’s favorite pastime.

QuoteWe had two guys in our office get them. Both went back to real smokes. I still may give it a try though. It was kinda funny seeing peoples reactions as they puffed away on them in the office though. One woman tried to say that she could smell the electronic smokes. They are completely odorless though. Made a big stink about it (no pun intended).
Do your homework, if you want it to work for you I suggest you read others experiences first... All you need to know in 6 posts I would suggest not buying that shit from the mall.Travis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off -
I have quit cold turkey 3 times, 3 months then a year later I did again for almost 18 months then the last was last summer for a few months. I had absolutely NO good reason for starting again accept I Like smoking, in fact if I wasn't starting to feel the negative effects of smoking I still would be a pack a dayer. I found this has helped me keep what I want which is the Habit of smoking, I still use nicotine liquids but I have been progressivaly cutting down the amount each time I buy a new flavor. I am happy for those of you with such "big balls" but honestly I just didn't want to quit, knew I should, so now I use this instead. I'm happy, my lungs are happier, and people around me don't have to smell... well at least my cigs

I am always supportive of people who want to and have quit. This is working for me, hopefully it can othersTravis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off -
I agree, it's hard for us to quit though.... on the other hand I was always polite as a "cigarette" smoker, never smoked in the car unless with another smoker, never inside, and never ever in front of or directly near children.Travis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off -

Thats a brief survey, the site http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com has all sorts of great information about E-cigs. I can personally say I have been smoke free for almost 2 months, thats zero real cigs. I use the E-cig less now than I did when I started and it seems to do the trick for me. Andy smoking is an addiction to nicotine but also a habit that is very hard to break, I have found more success with this method than the gum or patch or hypnosis, I still have a "cig" in my hand and I inhale "smoke (aka water vapor and nicotine + flavor)" and blow out a cloud that doesnt linger or smell offensive.Travis Roy Foundation. About 2 months ago I decided to quit smoking regular cigs, I still have a nicotine addiction but I am now using e-cigs instead. For those who know an E-Cig or electronic cigarette is a form of PV (personal vaporizing) in which a liguid is turned into vapor using an atomizer. I still get nicotine but no carcinogens and no stank. Just wanted to see what people here think of this relativly new method to "quit" smoking regular butts... 2 part poll
1st what do you think, second for Current Smokers OnLy please, would you try this?

So do you know something we don't? Would/could there be a tunnel in this area or are you just "blowing hot air"Travis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off -
I'd want O__ma by my side, hell first off I would be the second choice for an ass kickin and the secret service would take care of business if sh!+ got outta hand!Travis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off -
QuoteThe Mid-Atlantic region is one of those high-population (and relatively affluent) regions that is unfortunately under-served when it comes to tunnels. Really nothing much between the tunnels in Montreal or New Hampshire to the north, and Pigeon Forge, TN and Raeford, NC to the south.
That being said, don't hold your breath until the economy greatly improves. Proposed tunnels at the Meadowlands (NJ near NYC) and I think Philly have been in the talking stage for years, but nothing more than that.
Depressing Andy... just downright depressing. What about Atlantic City, at least there is year round tourism and I could hit the tables and the tunnel in the same dayTravis Roy Foundation. At very least its a tax write off -
It's your body, as long as your happy with it who cares what a bunch of people on the forum have to say... they may not like to have it as a tat but that doesn't mean it should change you opinion. tats are very personal, my opinion...if it's done by talented hands then it will turn out fine w or w/o both sayings. The skull and wings is a "cool" design,

I live in Baltimore and would LOVE a tunnel anywhere near DC or in NJ or PA or VA or MD or DE... it would be sweet to have one that close! Why there isn't one in the middle of the east coast is beyony me, there are plenty of DZ's in this "general"area that can't don't jump steadily year round, this would be a great oppertunity to keep our skill sets throught the off season/ improve skills on poor weather days!!!!!Travis Roy Foundation. I hope everybody has at least given a thought to donating, he will benefit directly and that will certainly help. I have a link in my sig line to The Travis Roy Foundation, this foundation is where you can donate toward Spinal Cord Injury research. The more research that is able to be done the closer we will be to finding a way to more effectively treat and maybe someday even cure there SCI patients.
