We have the N3 in production but we haven't started shipping yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a good Christmas!

Most of the differences will be in the physical appearance of the altimeter. The software is very similar.

I wish I had a more definite release date but there just isn't a specific one yet...I think it's safe to say that it will not be early summer

FIY if you really like the idea of the metal case, Alti-2 is coming out with an N3 later this year and it has a metal case. Also it's estimated price is half of the ruggedized neptune
