  1. The last couple times I saw Bill Ottley he was having some trouble getting around, and didn't seem very happy. I am worried about him. Does anyone know where he is, what he's up to, or how he's doing?

Check out the Pelicanland-Ridgeley, MD in History part of this site and it mentions WHO's funeral. I remember him from Pelicanland days 72-73...he was an icon.

  2. I am wondering if anybody knows of Andy Keech's whereabouts these days. I am guessing that he would be in the vicinity of 65-70 years old unless he started jumping very young.

Andy Keech is in Washington, DC...you can check him out on his website: www.LittleWingWonder.com
I've been chatting with him and he's great!

  3. Hi from Indiana. I just found DZ forum to reminisce with former jumpers in the 1970s from Pelicanland when "skydiving was the most fun you could have with your clothes on." Do you remember that old poster? Or have you ever seen it? I jumped the old gear, the new stuff was just coming out and it was very unreliable. One guy had 8 malfunctions in 10 jumps. You have a whole new world of fun now. Just checking in. ;) Andy Keech took my picture for Skies Call and the Marsha poster. B|

  4. Name: Mike Schultz
Duties on the DZ: Instruction, Jumpmastering, Marketing
    How many skydives: 7,650+
Time in the sport: 39+ Years
License and Ratings: D-1180, AFF Instructor, Tandem Instructor
Favorite thing about the sport: The DZ is a place where you can love your buddies, even if they're falling down on the job; plus, the clientele brings a new face and an adventurous spirit to your doorstep. Things are never boring for long.

  5. I jumped there '72-'73 and have some pics from then. Trained by Jim McIntire...era of Billy Gifford, Francis McCauley, Johnny Crews, Bob Holt, Dennis Young, Myron Irwin, Liz Lurie, Phil Caputo, Joe Baker, Dave Gallagher, Deke Ahle, and of course Mike Schultz. Used to eat at the Blue Top Cafe and stay overnight with the little old ladies.
