the crowd that made up the skydiving population was a bunch of lighthearted people that had a sense of humor and liked a good laugh now and then, where has that crowd gone? I really think people need to lighten up and realize that it's just an ad in a magazine, nothing more.

We're still here. The overwhelming majority of us do have a sense of humor. Hell, I thought I had a warped and twisted sense of humor...until I met the people at my DZ. I think your ads are awesome. Keep them coming. (There's your caption for the next ad.;))

I want to get into wing-suits one of there days but my rig isn't compatible right now and I want one of the top guys we see on these boards to train me, I respect his skills and method. It'll happen, there's no rush.

I think this statement speaks volumes. The fact that someone with your experience and time in the sport (notice I didn't call you old:P) is humble enough to seek out appropriate instruction when you're ready to learn a new discipline is a great example for those who are in a rush, and think they already know it all.

Last year I sent L&B my ProTrack which had a cracked display face. I wanted to know if they could replace the cracked part, and they sent me a brand new ProTrack for FREE! They're awesome. Had to wait a few weeks, but it was totally worth it. B|

Same here. I sent L&B my Optima expecting them to just replace the cover, and they sent me back a brand new Optima. They even threw in some extra betteries:)

  4. Given the choice of getting "shot" with the 100,000 volts, or getting the crap beat out of me with a baton (broken bones is the first visual that comes to mind), I think I'll go with the tazer option.

How many citizens would have died at the hands of police if they had NOT had tasers available with which to subdue dangerous suspects?

After speaking with some friends who are police officers, and asking them their opinion on the use of the taser, that's exactly how they responded. The biggest advantage in their opinion is that the use of the taser has dramatically cut down on the use of force (i.e. fighting, use of nightstick/baton) required to arrest a violent/agressive subject.

  6. Check out the review below for some more information. With a few minor modifications, the author thinks it's a pretty good rifle for the price. I bought one last month, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Only thing I've changed on it is the stock to a Magpul adjustable stock. I'm planning on changing the trigger also, and maybe upgrading to a longer flutted barrel some time later.

I have no issue with the law other than it should be acrosss the board.
30mph or more over the limit and forfeit your veer-hich-ile

There's a discussion on this law in a Florida sportbike forum. According to one of the posters who's been communicating with the representative trying to pass the law:

"The law now sites as ALL vehicles not just motorcycles...

It is now gone up from 30 to 50 mph...

And it is now a 3 strike rule
    1st offense is a $1k fine
    2nd offense is a $2500 fine
3rd offense is when you'd lose your license and go to jail"

  8. I wanted to give an update on my Optima situation. I just received a brand new Optima from L & B to replace the cracked one I sent them...AT NO CHARGE! These guys are awesome.

As I wrote earlier, this was my first time dealing with their customer service, and they have surpassed all my expectations; Excellent product, excellent company! I will definitely remain a loyal customer.

if you want to spend $1.80 and send it to them with a nice letter stating your issue and wrap the item in bubble wrap and send it to them via mail it will get handled a lot quicker I have found.

Thank you for the suggestion. I already got a reply from them though. They asked me to ship the altimeter to them, and explained that any repairs they make would be free of charge!

The Optima is the only device I've bought from them (so far), but with customer service this impressive, I think they've just got another loyal customer.

  10. Thanks for the information. I just emailed them about this problem this morning. I hadn't contacted them before, because, as I wrote earlier, I thought I had cracked it. The optima still works, but the crack has been increasing in size. Anyway, I hope they'll replace mine too.

I also have had a great experience with them. My optima developed a crack on the lens that has quickly spread. The unit is maybe 5 months old and has always been inside my helmet.

They are claiming it as a defect and replacing it. Kudos to these guys and I absolutely love my Optima.

This is good to know. I thought somehow I had put pressure on it in my helmet. I thought weird dunno how that happened. Looks like I'll be contacting them cause I have the same dang crack.

edit: email sent today 2 seconds ago.

My Optima has developed a crack on the lens as well. I have a somewhat tight fitting helmet, so I thought the EXACT same thing. Good to know it wasn't might large melon that cracked it. I guess I'll be contacting them as well.
