    (270*1.618)-135=301.84 feet.

    Most usually round up to 302 though.



    I propose degrees_of_turn*e^(10/size_of_canopy_in_sq_meters)

    Amusingly it works out pretty accurately for the data I have at hand, but I suspect it overestimates at turns much over 360.

    Anyone got something better?

  2. Since everyone is waiting for you to discover the search function, I'll answer.

    I prefer to use the heels out/knees in technique when flying close with others. If I'm far below I'll lean back and pop the hip a little. When I need to slow down from a high speed position or when i need to go really slow I put one leg forward and the other back(daffy) and lean back a bit.

  3. I have no problems with my Mamba, except when it's extremely cold(sub 20's fahrenheit on ground). When it's that cold, i use a face mask under the helmet, and it helps direct my breath out the mouth holes and away from the lens. That helps. And there's always the option of taking off the visor and using goggles. The jaw piece will still protect you from the vast majority of kicks to the face

  4. I have a Vengeance 150, and the ground handling characteristics of airlocks get more manageable with the smaller sizes. For reference, lilchief flies a samurai 120, and sees no problem with airlocks on the ground. That said. according to PD, the Katana should fly similarly and cover the same performance envolope.

  5. That is a good point. Chest straps are non-bearing an usually type 17, 2500 lbs, or type 8 4000 lbs webbing. The most common chest strap buckle, however, is only rated to 500 lbs before it deforms.
