    this post is long time ago :)
    Yes youre right. shorter lines and different balance under canopy are reasons for it. But it fly very nice and opens much much better than velo and even better than vx.

    i start looking for a full sail jvx - but i dont like to buy a new gear for it :(

  5. i talked to chris when the xaos was designed a couple o years ago - i mean i didnt asked him about details because at this time i thought the canopies where the same except the lines. now i know better... however, tell me the big difference in airfoil design?? think its also a matter of product marketing n stuff of course you need to get into him pretty deep :)
    however, chris is definatly the 1% who may be able to answer my initial question if the lines are shorter and why the trim is "optimized" to a shorter recovery arch, i mean shorter dive - i tried to contact him by an old email address, many month ago. I like my X27 94 like it is. Thank you very much for info.

    Btw the Samurai is an excellent canopy ;)

    what about your risers on da velo??? Yeah sometimes it looks like a lineover when it opens on heading, endcells are open and the middle cells are closed but until know i havent had bad openings like under a velo or vx...

    hey freezone :)) build by the original manufacturer of the vx make a totaly different canopy? the way its sewed doesnt matter to me as long it doesnt explode during openings or some bands somewhere to make it tuff but other dimensions? is that true?? cant see any changes..??? u mean aspect ratio n stuff? plz lemme know if you have detailed information about that!

    What does it mean "nose was closed off"?? It seems to be the same like vx´s nose. (Excuse my poor english)

    Xaos and VX is the same except the lines. I have never heard before that longer risers or lines helps for good openings, ... ok - sounds good. i think the lines from xaos are shorter - iam nearly sure - they must :S because of the much shorter "recovery arch".
    Next weekend a friend with his vx is @ the dz so i can compare the lines on nearly same sized canopies myself. Somebody tried to sew a hma non cascadet lineset for the velo but it was to bad to find the right sizes. However my xaos is great and i like a lill more than my velo because of softer i mean a bit more controlled openings.

    Rob, you got my VX man ;) i liked flying it very much.

    Sorry for being or writing like i am one of 1% skygods or so! I just thought only 1% is able to tell me how it works with "tuned" line sets, longer risers n stuff uno? I jump as much as i can :)

    i know that just max 1% can answer my question! i dont want to talk with manufacturers i please want to know skydivers opinions with min 500 jps a year (like me ;) ) i mean riggers swoopers just experts, k?

    Is the lineset on the Xaos shorter than VX?

    Ive got a xaos27 94 now and it dives not that deep like the vx97 i had before - but it opens much nicer :)maybe one of you is able to tell me more about the differences??

    i also own a velo and it opens like [:/] i mean its a great canopy but after a few openings like being in a rollercoaster i feel much more comfortable with my xaos - so this is my second question:
    what to you think about a xaos21 lineset on a velo??

    i dont need all your doubts or " :o dont do this " comments. maybe we can write about this like experts ;) however i would be happy for any information.

    Iam owner of a Paratec Rage97 with that Ram Air Guiding Engine ;) with now 100jps on it WL about 1.9. I did more than 2000 Jps on elip. canopies. Once i had a collapse of the endcells at the same altitude, i could inflate it like you. it never happened again. I can say in turbulence everything can happen with any canopy - i think i was a bit slow at this time plus turbulence. The RAGE is a canopy that should be flown fast - that is what its designed for. My Velo103 did the same a few month ago!! both canopies are great but the rage opens like nothing else smooth and on heading...

    Air traffic control is very important - you should spend most of the time under the canopy with checkin around you so you can do your landing as you like - and faaaaaaast... happy that youre ok!!
