  1. I generally have the same persona online as off. What you see is a good indication of what you'll get when you see me out somewhere. I'm more talkative, if anything. ;)

  5. awesome :)

a few years back , I saw mark farina and dereck carter at the state palace theater in new orleans...I was dancing during dereck's set and looked over to see mark a few feet away just enjoying the show. he's a really humble cat too.

wound up shaking hands with dereck around 5am that morning lol. A few of us were just sitting on the edge of the stage by the speakers at that point and he came over to from behind the tables to hang out for a few.

  10. I can't vouch for wiki , but the part about the original pledge being penned by a socialist and the "under god" being later added in the McCarthy era as a response to communism is true.

Their reasonings may or may not have been valid , but that's the history of how it came to be.

  12. I'm very anxious to get back into the sport and find a good home DZ after my false start last year. The real issue is setting aside funds right now to get off to a good start without having to worry. I've got a lot of variables to consider other than the atmosphere here in the beginning. Price of AFF , gear rental for the first several jumps and the price of those jumps.....I'd be willing to take off a week and drive 5-6 hours to take care of those things at first, and then find something closer.. on the other hand, I'm thinking of moving anyway and my job is going to require quite a bit of travel , so who knows really what will happen. All I know is I'm doing all I can to get my ducks in a row and get my ass back up in the sky ASAP. :)

  14. My dad's reaction to my first tandem made at 33 was at first the typical "have you lost your friggin' mind" "you're gonna WHAT?" type of thing.... but then he started telling me stories of doing a few low altitude static line jumps in the military during the 1960's. When I explained the whole process and how it was a "tad" ( hehe) higher than he had jumped from and a lot more freefall he got really quiet , then said "son , you've got more balls than your ol man" lol

in reality , he was nervous obviously , but after getting a copy of that video he still brags to his friends to this day about it :) the guy couldn't be prouder lol

he still asks when I'm going to get back into the sport. I hope really soon. ;)
