  1. Skydive Twin Cities has a great "Load Organizer" program. They have several LO's to help round up and organize jumpers from various disciplines. The LO's main goal is to see to it that everyone has fun. They use social media to encourage jumpers to show up. The LO's all work hard to teach important skills to the Newbs. You see, the sooner we teach them to fly, the sooner they can help us build successful bigger ways.

In case you don't know this, you can have fun and learn to be a better skydiver at the same time. :P

  2. Fertilizer! Makes a nice green mark and lasts for a couple months. It does take a week or so to show up, so, you'll have to plan ahead....which, by the way, is a great skill to have if you're going to do demos. ;)

    2. Don't scream at people who may be taking too long.

Shall we switch that order around?

No need to switch the order. "We all need to continue to learn in this sport" was my point. I wasn't trying to place blame or rank any ones level of Dickness. B|

Why does he have to get along with him? If you can't see out the door don't scream at someone to go

Yes, but a well though out, calm conversation can diffuse the situation.

We keep referring to the OP as a student. I think it's important to remember that at 60+ jumps, the OP probably doesn't see himself as a student. However, we're all students in this sport, even the "senior" TI who clearly has some lessons to learn.
    Today's lesson...
    1. Don't take too long in the door.
    2. Don't scream at people who may be taking too long.

....when I hear the senior TI in the back yelling GO!!!!!!! I get that the TI's are tired and don't want to make a second pass but if I'm in the door it's my responsibility ......

First of all, what's a senior TI? ;)

Here's the best advise I've got for ya... Go talk to the TI. Tell him what you were thinking, listen to what he has to say, ask other Instructors for their opinion, and call this a teachable moment. You've gotta get along with him (the TI) in the future, let him know your a student that wants to learn. And, my guess is, he'll probably feel like a jackass for being one. :)

I've said this before in this thread and I'll say it again. This is not about her being bothered by an airplane. This is about a leftist using the government to destroy a legitimate business. Her and all of her supporters are far left wing activists.

This is really a fight about free market capitalism.

So, banned from SC Huh? Hmmm? I can't imagine why. Look, please don't insult leftists by comparing them to Kimmie. They do NOT deserve that. The Gibbster is a true Nut Job. It has nothing to do with her political views. ;)

And it took exactly one post to prove the point of what I said that "This website is the absolute worst place to get information from as far as personal abilities and gear selection. "

Hmmm? Do we need to post this.....

get your team together and come to the meets - I'm usually coaching and judging these and I'll do post briefs and teach any team that actually ASKS me to. (As well as show you method and techniques and continuity planning - prebriefs, etc)

The 4 way Belly camp is a great way to get started. All the information is available on the Northern Plains Skydiving League Facebook page.

***The greatest impediment to me learning to pack was the option of paying $6.

Actually, paid packers, AFAIK, were a rarity in the 70's.

Skydives were only $6 in the 70's. If I'm remembering correctly (which may well NOT be the case) we got paid $3 for packing T-10's in the late 70's.

The author had a pretty reasonable stance up until that point.

That was my thought exactly. This is probably the most well written, even keeled, unbiased thing I've seen in that rag..... until that point.

All the author had to do is include what CFQS's should do to help mend fences. .....like, pay up and shut up!!:o
