    Yep, i got to know them at Mercer, will be good to see them again:)
    The PAC is a great ship if you are a freeflyer as you get to sit on the floor but if you are doing RW you will be nicely squashed on the bench seats with the Tandems. Boy it will be hot in there.

    Marvellous, im a belly-flyer. Oh well, its about time i joined the darkside......



    it's like a mercer reunion hehe, if anyone ever feels the need to give me a job and/or money i'll catch up with you some time!

  5. i had the same problem, everyone seemed to find it hilarious that i broke myself skydiving on the other side of the world and felt the need to call to mock me when i was in hospital still...

    i do understand the hilarity of the situation to be fair, but it's not all that helpful having people laugh at you when you're in traction B|

    i tell people i did it skydiving but always make sure i point out that it was entirely my fault and then having to explain that surprisingly enough the parachute did open ;)

    i'm guessing the visa situation didn't work out in the end, oh well looks like you're stuck with us then hehe..

  11. hey philippa (i probably spelt that wrong, i never got the hang of it when i was manifesting you hehe)...

    i'm back at home now as well and will probably be going to headcorn on saturday if you want to join me (i'll probably leave early cos of the football but i need a repack next week, so i have to go this weekend really...)

    if i remember you were a bit anti headcorn, but it's your nearest DZ and personally i like it there :)

    well there was that time i broke my pelvis in 7 places in an accuracy competition, or the time i crashed into a tree (twice), or that time i hit a concrete wall, or the time i got grounded for not flaring on my entire AFF course, or the time i did a downwinder in 30 knot winds, you get the idea :$

    oh well, i've made it to 300 jumps somehow hehe...

    there have been a ridiculous amounts of bad calls recently...

    Lucic got sent off for pretty much no reason in the germany-sweden game...

    the argentina-mexico game has been a complete joke... Messi clearly scored, i don't know how anyone could say that was possibly offside... Castro given a yellow card when he wasn't even involved with the tackle... Heinze should have been sent off for that tackle... the list goes on...

    seriously, i can't believe the amount of mistakes the refs have been making, this is meant to be the world cup!

    i wasn't all that impressed with the england game, it was a bit embaressing really, what is up with Crouch? yeh he scored, but how many attempts did it take him?! i was quite impressed with Lennon, he's certainly got some speed if nothing else...

    also everyone should take a moment to acknowledge that i predicted the 2-0 score hehe

    It is amazing how quickly even a 'docile' canopy will pick up speed huh?

    It seemed from your shadow that your hands were still at shoulder level when you hit (hope you're recovering OK) - was there any attempt to dig out of the turn?



    there wasn't really much chance of digging myself out of that hehe...

    it's all good now it was about 4.5 months ago, still a bit sore, but i'm jumping again...

    it was complete stupidity i know, some people had asked to see the video so i thought i might as well post about it on here...

  17. I finally got round to uploading the video of me breaking my pelvis in 7 places in February, for people who asked to see it before. It's only from my view and my camera died as i hit the ground.

    Long story short, pilot 188, target fixation/stupidity, 289 jumps, you'll see the rest....

    Its not all that exciting but it's quite comical and a good example of how not to land and what happens when you turn low B|

    yeh i can't say i was expecting that :S they didn't really deserve that score line but it would have been terrible if the Japanese had won based on a goal that shouldn't have been allowed...

    i'm going to sydney tomorrow, so it will be nice to be around some hype :)

    good result for Oz, to be fair the Japanese goal should blatently not have been allowed, but the scoreline was just a bit harsh based on the game...

    England can't play Brazil in the final because of the groop seedings... if England win their group, then they will play Brazil in the Semi-final

    yeh it's unlikely, but technically if england came 2nd in the group they could meet brazil in the final... very unlikely but stranger things have happened :)

    i broke my pelvis in 7 places in february (target fixation, complete stupidity)...

    i ended up doing a tandem just to get me back in the air... (i was working on a dropzone and really wanted to jump, but i (as well as the dzso to be fair) didnt trust my landings not to break me again at that stage) it meant that when i got around to jumping on my own i was less apprehensive and that i knew whether freefall would cause me pain and it means you're almost guaranteed a decent landing...

    so maybe try that?

    make sure you are physically ready to jump before doing so, i was barely off crutches when i started jumping again (i was meant to wait at least 6-12 months, i went for the 3.5 months option), which was somewhat stupid but it's been ok... so yeh, im being a hypocrite but you don't want to risk causing more damage...

  24. based on last nights performance i might have to change my views on england doing anything constructive during the world cup :(

    oh well england do have a track record of messing up the first game, so all may be good...

    it might also help if we don't get ridiculous refs that feel the need to book people for no apparent reason [:/]
