  1. I have XM and have had it for a few years and I LOVE IT. I really don't know what i would do without it, particularly on long road trips.

They are merging but i am not sure if it will be for awhile.

  2. Rather than vote, I would love to see those women who have a "tramp stamp"

i think they are pretty cool and some are quite beautiful and creatively designed

Our health care system is the best in the world.

No. Our top-tier health care is probably the best in the world. But calling it a system should take into account all of the users, not just the ones who have access to it because of either insurance or money.

    Wendy W.

You make a good point. Its a myth that the US has the best health care system in the world. In fact, out of most industrialized countries, the US is far behind in quality and health outcomes. For those that are willling to pay at some of the specialized hospitals or integrated systems, yes, they will get the most advanced technology and latest treatments. But as far as what is available to the population, it is very tiered.

The question of health care coverage and whether individuals have a RIGHT to health coverage is truly a philosophical question. Some believe it is a commodity like any other and that the market should prevail and that it is a decision that belongs to the individual. Others believe that everyone has a right to a certain standard of care and coverage. The problem that we have here in the US is that we have both systems.. its the dirty little secret. We have both socialized medicine (45% of the country is under govt. health care) and the rest are either private/employer based coverage. And even those that are not covered, can get care at the ER as hospitals are required to provide care.

in my view, there is a definite need to do something in our health care system. It is definitely hemoraging badly. For those that want a market system -- well, there is no market right now. For those that want single payer government -- well there is no one government system. Its really going to take the involvement and hard decisions by every group -- and that includes the consumer who right now doesn't want his choices limited but wants everything to be free and wants to eat all the donuts in the world.

Face it -- health care is a commodity like everything else -- and there is a limited amount of money to spend. So at some point we have to make some hard decisions, before the system blows up.

    just my little opinion.

I can't believe i know this but it was Ashlee Simpson. She was lip synching and then realized the music skipped and tried to hide it by doing some stupid dance on stage. Then she ran off. Hilarious:)

The music didn't skip. They started the wrong track, it threw her off, and while she was trying to figure out what was going on, her voice magically started singing without her mouth moving.

    I stand corrected! ;)

Didn't Britney once get busted for lip-syncing on Saturday Night Live a few years back when the CD player started skipping?

  6. While I am sure that it depends on the individual, it seems that guys don't realize a good thing until its gone and then they do realize it and want the girl back. Or he is in a different place than the girl when they meet and he isn't ready for commitment but once he loses her, he realizes that "hey, maybe i can commit after all because she really is worth it" And then, sometimes she is still there or sometimes she is not.

Or it just might be that once the pressure is off the guy realizes that he was with an exceptional woman and once he commits then both sides are equal.

  7. nNe of my favorite things to do on sunday morning is to buy the paper and go to brunch with my boyfriend and just sit there pouring through the entire paper. Throughout the entire time we sit there and read certain parts to each other or get into a discussion/debate on the various articles. Plus I love reading the travel section and dreaming about trips i want to take.

Otherwise, no i don't read the paper every day. Jut bits and pieces of it online. i wish I had the time or energy.

Well, the next day i had a dozen HUGE gerber daisies delivered to me in a beautiful vase. I was completely surprised and touched by his thoughtfulness.

Does that mean he got some??:o:P:D

hahaha.. thats for ME to know Mister....

Honestly he did not because of those flowers, but that gesture, among many other thoughtful and kind gestures/actions, did result in me thinking of him a different light. He and I had always just been friends (although I knew he liked me much more) but his constant support through some rough times and consistently being a friend, has resulted in something a bit more.

So who knows, your "investment" in flowers may help. But don't count on it :P

The shoes can also give you pain from being a poor fit for your foot.

I once developed severe pain from a new pair of shoes that were my size, but just the wrong fit.

Get new shoes and more importantly get some advice on the correct fit for your foot shape.

    BP
    :)

i second what you said -- it might just be the shoe that is the wrong fit for your foot. That can make a world of difference. You may need different support than that shoe provides. However, i usually replace me shoes after 6 months -- and I run about 20 -25 miles a week. And then keep them around for kicking around the house shoes.

  10. i was having dinner with a guy friend of mine and somehow the topic of flowers came up ( i honestly cannot remember why). Anyway I mentioned how much i love gerber daisies. He of course had no idea what they were and i told him what they looked like and why i liked them.

  11. there are waaay to many great songs to even list. i feel badly for those who grew up in the 90's and had to suffer through Pearl Jam and the other depressing songs.

  12. Information on your son's medical record is "owned" by the individual; the records themselves are "owned" by the provider/doctor. While there are probably states that permit providers to charge administrative fees for transmitting or copying records (not sure what your state law is), lawyers generally discourage the charging of a fee as a dispute on this issue could result in a malpractice case alleging all sorts of unethical activities.
Nevertheless, it is probably permitted to charge a fee.

my suggestion would be to talk with the office and see if you could come pick up the records for a nominal fee -- and maybe find out what the law allows in your state. However, from an ethical standpoint, your physician should know that he could be sued for malpractice if you decided to go that route (from a principle standpoint).

personally I think that its disgusting -- sounds like his office (or nurse/staff) just doesnt' want to deal with the administrative hassle of copying records and/or is lazy.

  13. I agree with you completely. I think the best kind of Valentine's day is staying in and having a nice meal with wine and candles. maybe have some decadent chocolate dessert that you can feed each other NAKED. WHy go out when going out to dinner is what one does almost every weekend?

i do like Gia's idea of a chocolate festival though. YUMMMMMMMMMMM! Count ME in

  14. Great goal for the year and something I aspire to do too. I agree with you whole heartedly... too often people respond with personal attacks or degrading omments because they don't have/don't want to admit the facts, are feeling defensive because they know they are wrong, or can't take their emotions out of the discussion.

if someone followed me around all day long, quoting EVERY word I say, I am sure I would say some pretty inane things too -- and for what it's worth, my GPA and SATs are far higher than the President's.
