  1. BACKUP to be sure;teaching a FJC I mention the backup radio as late in the course as I can, fearing the student will shut out the training to be self reliant and hope to rely on the radios. At our DZ the radios remain on untill landing.

  3. CONGRATULATIONS ! Glad youre ok,except the ankle.
A few questions if you dont mind; What was the main container ? A stylemaster? Was the reserve attached hi or low on the harness(cant tell riser lenth from the photo)above or below the chest strap? is the pc ok? Where were you jumping? sea level ? I quit jumping my conventional(b4)rig in the water fearing the lo mount reserve opening shock would snap my 57 y/o self in half if I needed it.

  4. I too am an old( 56 yo)PC jumper and have treated my nostalgia needs at our annual water boogie and jumped the PC into the lake. Last year (water-boogie 23) I reluctantly put away my b-4 container(PC main,C-9 reserve) because the reserve attachment points were so low on the harness. If I needed my reserve (God forbid a total) I would have been bent in half like a taco during opening shock.

  5. A memorable ride to alti:
There was an imptomptu farting contest in the beech 18 on the way to altitude one winter. After several "honerable mentions" a choking, horid, cloud wafted through the cabin. Many wanted to open the door despite the cold. My friend from the Zuni Pueblo smiled and raised his hand and confessed "mutton burrito" Bastard won !

  6. My first "video game" was changing the channel and my brother changing it back to something else. Many fights like that. The test pattern was an Indian and headdress.
