  1. Thanks Brother,

I will give her a call. She will be very surprised to hear from me. I was given an award, and credited her and Jose Malave in my acceptance speech. I remember Susie telling me I would not remember her, but now I get to prove her wrong. Little did she know what she taught me about life I would use it to save others. Thanks again.

  2. Hello All,

It has been awhile and I miss the airtime. I am trying to locate Jose Malave, he was my first Jump Master back at Campbell and Susie Hanks who brought me into the world of skydiving. In my culture when we receive recognition for our actions we seek those who mentored us. I would like to thank them personally. Please feel free to pass on my information to them, they will remember me.

  3. Sorry Mate, I do not have pictures yet, but I will take some in a few days. I would like to get rid of it simply because it is no longer in production. Collins Griffin, I believe is his name was the manufacture of he canopy. To my understanding he has passed away some time ago and Aeroglide, the name of the company is no longer in business. I had a Sabre 150 and it flew perfect as I loved the two stage flare and it was easy to fly. Now that I am returning back into jumping I would like a Sabre 135 or something similar as I am not sure about the Griffin. I have jumped it a few times, but I do remember not being able to flare it as good as the Sabre. And yes it is weird looking.

  4. Does anyone have any experience with a Griffin 135 Canopy? I have one in my rig and getting back into jumping. I have searched for information, but I understand the canopy is no longer in production. Any information would be helpful, thanks!

  5. Hello my skydiving family,

After years of traveling the world as Uncle Sam's Rook I am finally returning to home to my skydiving family. I remember meeting my first instructors Susie Hanks and Gary Parrish (RIP) who sent me out to get Burger King for the Pilots on Son DZ. I still remember my first jump with Jose Malave, who made my first jump one of my most memorable experience.

I remember my first Birdman flight with Scott Campos, Katie Sell, and Chuck Blue. To this day that picture still hangs on my wall of a reminder of the best times I had at Raeford DZ.

Its time to get back into the healing process and I cannot think of a better way to do so than get back into the air. For me, Skydiving was my medicine in between the 2 way rifle ranges, and one of the most effective ways to deal with the past.

I now reside in Germany and it's good to be back. Anyone in Germany let me now and lets link up.

  6. It has been a while since I was able to come back to this site, I'm busy playing the in the box at the moment. I just read in the Stars and Strips about CSM Harry Parrish. The sadness that engulfed me was immense and my level of anger is even more so. How do good people continue to die when we have others much more deserving. CSM Parrish to me was one of the most caring and understanding leaders I ever met.

Let me explain to you how someon like him meant so much to a pion like me. Many years ago Fort Campbell on an early Saturday morning I saw something buzz my window. I jumped up and saw parachutes flying by. Immediately I put on my clothes and ran down to Son DZ. Yeah I know, its not there anymore, a shame right?

So I arrived at the DZ and who did I meet? CSM Harry Parrish, Suzie Hanks, Auto, K-man, and Jose Malave. Harry as he wanted me to call him welcomed me like I was one of the jumpers. Suzie was the mother of the DZ and did the same. Funny thing, I thought Harry and Suzie were a couple because they ran the club so well. Harry explained to me he could train me right away but being afraid of heights I said I would wait. Many of you who knew me back then, know I was f!@#$ terrified of heights.

But every weekend I would show up and Harry and Suzie would encouraged me to learn to Skydive. I was a DZ goofer going to get lunch for the pilots. I remember everyone giving up 2 bucks to buy the BlackHawk Pilots lunch.

Harry sat me down and convinced me to learn. Suzi was the "MOM" reinforcing what "DAD" just said. I was given the following Friday off and Suzie was my instructor.

Harry would watch me jump and tell me how to control my canopy. Since then, I became a religious sky junkie. I remember, Harry telling me I would forget him, but he was wrong. I have remembered him and everyone else mentioned everytime I exited an aircraft. Because of Harry, I learned to control my fear of heights.

Since then I have competed in several Skydive Competitions and placed first with a Team at the Goldknights Invitational. I have done exhibition jumps as the team leader during football games. And I have done several high altitude night jumps. All because of the time Harry took to expose me into the world of skydiving.

Harry, thank you for taking the extra time to develop me into the Soldier I am today. Thank you for teaching me to trust my equipment and most of all have fun. I will miss you and will continue to remember you everytime I exit the aircraft. Blue skies CSM Harry Parrish, Blue skies,

I don't think I am. As for many of the posters on dz.com, well, I would have to disagree when they say they are not sexy. For me, sexiness comes from within. The way a person carries him/herself, humor, voice, etc. I think MANY people exude sexiness -- IMHO it's not just looks. :)

I TOTALLY CONCUR WITH YOUR STAMTEMENT!!! Thank you.;) If only there were many women like you, I might have enjoyed college life much better. The world needs like minds such as yours.

  10. are you freaking kidding me.......of course not! Well hold on...... wait a second.......let me check one more time........SHIT the !@#$ing mirror just confirmed I do not qualify for that tittle......bloody racist mirror!:(

  11. Good for you bro. I can't say I liked it there however the only thing that kept me sain was the skydiving when they used to have the Ft. Campbell sport parachute club. Jose Malave, Susie Hanks, Harry Parris, Auto, Kman and the bunch they were my first instructors.

Every weekend it was Blackhawk jumps and they were free. As fast as you can pack determined the amount of jumps you made. Pilots were screaming to fly for us. Then we went to Hoopers lane to to eat (Joses favorite food Calzones) It was there that I started jumping and I've been addicted ever since.

Andrew, Mike, Johnny R, all I used to do a lot of training with those guys. Back then at Campbell on Son Dz that was the best thing going. If I was speeding on 41A on my Kawasaki, I was on the DZ. Man what good times that was.

  12. Hmmm interesting subject. I guess this would depend on your personal beliefs and how much are your willing to forgive. Most religions preach forgiveness. My older sister is Buddhist and she has always taught me to forgive, and I have seen how she somehow has found a level of piece only envied by others.

But there is a limit. example my ex who was my best friend, only dated me because of my ethnicty. My diverse background was something of a trophy for her instead of what a true relationship should have been based on. I just happened to be at her girlfriends home doing a photo shoot and heard the conversation on speaker phone. This was after she dumped me.

There isnt anything physically worse than the pain I felt that day. I could never forgive her for it even though its been over 10 years. There are somethings I will forgive, but that will never be one of them.

  13. I @#$!#$* KNEW IT!!!!

Women do prefer taller men for a number of reasons. After interviewing 40 females from different backgrounds I was able to understand why taller men were more prefered.

The most significant reason was that taller men seem to display a sense of security for a woman. They feel more protected and unconcioulsly women see them as a better choice to father their child. Keep in mind this doesnt speak for the entire female population, just the 40 women that I was lucky enough to interview.

I am glad you all gave me your honest opinions Im off to China for my to get a height extension operation:ph34r: Thanks

  14. Okay I know this is corny or even immature but I wanted to prove a point to one of my co-workers. I told him that women prefer taller guys which is why short guys are not neccessarily the first option. He insist short guys are prefered over tall guys. What say you?

If any guys here have taller significant others I would like to know your opinion as well and vice versa.

Oh yeah I have a lot of "stuff" riding on this. The looser owes the other 10 lift tickets, free fly pants, and pays for their next reserve pack job.

Just in case you need it later....

This pre-booty call agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") is entered into on the _____day of __________, 2002, by_______________________, between ____________and______________.

    Ohhhhh that's so cold[:/]
THIS AGREEMENT SHALL COVER THE FOLLOWING RULES AND PRINCIPLES:

    1. No sleeping over - unless it is very good and we need to repeat it in the morning.

    2. No meeting in public except for dinner or drinks before the events of the evening.

    3. No calls before 9 PM - we don't have shit to talk about.

    4. None of that "lovemaking" shit - only sex allowed.

    5. No emotional discussions (i.e. Where are we heading with this? Do you love me?) The
answer is no, so don't ask.

    6. No plans made in advance - that is why you are called the "backup," unless you are from
    out-of-town, then it's only a one-time advanced arrangement.

    7. All gifts accepted - money is always good.

    8. No baby talk - however, dirty talk is encouraged.

    9. No asking for comparisons with former lovers - it's really none of your damn business.

    10. No calling each other "friends with privileges" we are not friends, just sex buddies.

    11. Calling out the wrong name during sex is OK - don't be offended.

    12. No extra clothing - I don't want your ass leaving anything behind when you leave.

    13. No falling asleep right after sex - it's over, so get your ass up, get dressed and go the
    fuck home.

    14. Don't be offended if I don't ask if you enjoyed it - I don't care.

    15. You cannot borrow my car for any reason.

    16. If anyone asks who you are, the standard response will be: "My roommate's
    girlfriend/boyfriend."

    17. Doggie style is the preferred position - the reason is less eye contact the better.

    19. No condoms, no fucking. Carry your ass home.

    20. Bring your own drink - I am not your liquor store.

    21. No phone use, please - don't want anyone calling back looking for your ass.

    * EXTRA TIP FOR SUCCESSFUL BOOTY CALLS:

The aforementioned rules may only be altered by the holder of the agreement. If the other party attempts to change or alter any terms of this Agreement, it will automatically
become null and void and you will then be removed from the BOOTY CALL LIST and deleted from phone memory and email list. In other words, you will be BLOCKED from all communications until your silly ass understands the rules.
