Hi all
Is there a weight guideline considered 'recommended average' for flatfly? I'm trying to work out how much weight to add...
I weigh 170 pounds with gear and seem to be too slow.Blue Skies!

Hi all
I'm looking to mount the same camera (CX-150E) top-mount on a Optik 210 helmet, with a GoPro on the front.
I see these posts were a while ago - how about some feedback re operating with it? Which d-box did you go with in the end? How does it perform in FreeFly?
Thanks!Blue Skies!

Hi all
Is the HDR-CX150E video camera NTSC or PAL? I need PAL (South Africa).
If not PAL, which model number is PAL?
ThanksBlue Skies!

I see your point. Thank you.
Am now leaning more towards mounting the GoPro with Low-Pro mounting on the front by itself. (It will stand up a bit, as the 210's front is sloped)
Then mounting a CX-150 or something ontop, also by itself, with a Liquid Flatlock or equivalent.
This now begs a new question:
Will the GoPro be in the way of the CX's field of view??Blue Skies!

Naa, we're tougher - Bouncing back rocks, 'coz then you're airborne again

Hey guys
I'm looking to use GoPro in stills mode, with Contour+ for video, both top mounted.
I am really keen on this combo (BH Optik 210 & Zkulls Hero Overkill) - Will it work? The 210's front looks very sloped...
Thanks

Hi all
Started skydiving in 1996. Recently returned to the sport after a long break. Then broke my pelvis badly due to one hand unintentionally left in frontriser diveloop at flare time. Unlucky. After a year and a half recovery, I'm now recurrent and back with even more enthusiasm for my beloved sport.
Nobody ever warned me about this hazard. Yet I see now it was mentioned in these forums. So now obviously I'm reading everything I can ;)
Great work - keep it up guys!

I recently (04/03/2010 Tempe, RSA) broke my pelvis in 4 places because I couldn't get my left hand out the front riser dive loop at flare time.
I had experimented with straight front riser pulls above 1000', but forgotten to take my left hand out. I merely continued a long downwind leg, 180 hook with right toggle, all perfect - except forgot left hand was still in dive loop.
I sincerely wish I'd read these articles earlier, as it was the first time I've read/heard of this being an issue :(Blue Skies!

'average' skydiver weight
in Gear and Rigging
I am 5 10" so kinda average, as I thought.
To answer your question, I never had this problem before, but after a 1 year recovery from broken pelvis (unnecessary front riser dive loops accident), I have lost about 8 pounds and it's taking awhile to put back on ;)
Also, the chaps at my new DZ average 10 pounds heavier than me.
I have tried the spandex, tight suit thing - was in the smallest 'box' position ever!! And I CAN arch. I'm simply too light now, but not by much, I can just stay with them, range is my issue now, takes too long to catch them. Hence the weights idea :)
