  1. I had the same problem mate, this is what I did.
Take a color co-ordinated (natch) push pin. Hold the steel part in your drill chuck, and file down the part that you 'push' on 'til you have a base, and a
    'long' part.
Then grip the long part in your chuck, apply epoxy to the steel and the underside of the 'base'...
Now the good bit,.. drive the pin into the visor about a half inch below the latch hole, until flush.
After the glue sets Dremmel off the excess pin.....Voila!! Mine's been good for about 11 years now.........I know, I've got too much time on my hands. haha :)

  2. Why is it you are wanting to pack this way, are you trying to correct for a deployment/ opening problem?

Yes, I had a spinner recently for no good reason, had a reserve ride. I guess I'm trying to reinvent the wheel......

  3. Just curious...My container manufacturer specifies that the 'D' bag line stows should be at the bottom of the container (facing your heels). Can anyone tell me why I can't stow the 'D' bag with the stows facing my back?,would this method give a cleaner deployment? what am I missing? What do you think?

  4. I jumped in north Carolina a few years back, Raeford, 2 in the plane, yours truly and Cheryl Stearns.
She was practicing for her record attempt (success) for the most jumps in 24 hours.
Her rigger had devised a pulley sytem to enable her to get down quick........
She might be able to advize,Google her,She's quite the gal...

  5. Ahh.. the lost art of spotting....CSPA rules sez,a wind drift is to be thrown before 1st. load of the day,If there hasn't been a load for over 90 minutes or there's a significant change in wind direction... all good stuff.
At our DZ the DZO had a standing bet...at the first WD throw, the thrower could put up 10 dollars to try and win 100 dollars, by throwing the WDI at the guessed spot and attempt to land the WDI in the bowl, Vic Boghese never had to pay out in 32 years

  6. EXACTLY!!!!!
So some bozo(the 1st. person down) gets himself/herself into a corner, and the only way out is a downwinder,.... Can you say LEMMINGS.....
Give me a GOOD reason to adopt this asinine way of landing, wouldn't it be prudent to try and establish a global rule, and to not pander to swoopers.......

  7. I'd like to open a can'o worms......Here's my 2 cents.
I determine my landing direction before I board the aircraft..... Bad spot, I know the ground winds, Reserve ride, ditto. NOBODY tells me which direction to land..,NOBODY.....Left hand pattern,OK...This area only OK...Hey,you want to land downwind, do it away from the general landing area, dont encourage the 50 jump student to leave HIS brain in the aircraft.. Hey, new rules at LAX first one down.............

  8. I've owned both, Here's my thoughts....Parapack looks new right out of the box at 500 jumps provided you don;t snag it....Cordura is bulletproof, but looks aged ,(dull) at 100 jumps. My choice,Parapack but RW dosen't give give an option. So I settled for my 2nd choice..
