  1. I'd support MainActor from MainConcepts.

    http://www.mainconcept.com/mainactor_v5.shtml

It a great prog that works under both Windows and Linux. It's cheaper compared top others, but I believe it's easier to use compared to the others when you considerthe time constraint you're under to get the videos out.

If you're linux only (I doubt it), check out cinelerra. many more features, but not as easy to use.

Section 5-3 will include the following wing-loading recommendations as a maximum:

    >>Will the people that really need to read this section even look at the new SIM?

Those who want to absorb as much info as possible will.

    >>Maybe the USPA should require that all AFF students purchase a copy of the SIM. Dropzones could include the price of it in the first jump. It's only $25.

    >>I know the SIM can be downloaded, but having a book in your hand is very different than being able to find the information online.

People may see it laying around the house and think about the fun they had. I'd prefer the option to download and print it out. My instructors at Crosskeys told me I could pick one up at the shop or DL it. I liked having that option w/o having to spend the extra cash.

  3. Anyone try making their own?

A wine / home brew shop I used to frequent had a selection of odd herbs/spices. Wormwood was one of the substances available. The Garcia-look-alike owner of the place convinced me to try it out.

I took a bottle of EverClear (near ure grain alcohol) and made room for the wormwood. It turned green after a few days. After 10, I removed the strained the liquid.

After that it sat in my cupboard for months because I lacked the intesinal fortitude to try it. When the time actually came, I tried a drop on my tongue. Ultra-bitter. I tried cutting half a shot of the substance w/ 6 packets of sugar and then mixing it into a cola. Nothing could kill the bitterness and taste.

Is it supposed to be that harsh?

Should I be expecting some boys in blue at my door in the morning for making this stuff?

I have a near full bottle of the liquid left if anyone is in the South Jersey area and wants to try some.

For a beer market research study. WTF??? Marketing company called me. I've done stuff for them before and they pay well. This time it was a beer research study. They called back and said I was over qualified. :S Dunno what that meant but I think AA is in order.:P
    Ed

I think it only means they were looking for someone who would provide positive remarks about Coors Light or Rolling Rock's new ultra light beer.

  5. Probably because of Webster's 3rd definition:

    Incident \In"ci*dent\, a. [L. incidens, -entis, p. pr. & of
incidere to fall into or upon; pref. in- in, on + cadere to
fall: cf. F. incident. See {Cadence}.]

    3. Liable to happen; apt to occur; befalling; hence,
    naturally happening or appertaining.

All chances incident to man's frail life. --Milton.

The studies incident to his profession. --Milward.

  6. On my first jump, the tandem masters were trying to bust my chops. The normal type of stuff. For the most part, my tm was keeping quite. The other tm's then began to ask my to inquire about about what my tm did before he started jumping. The story was that he was a gay porn star. I just blew it off. They continued on the topic. Then they said "He's even got his willy pierced.". I came back w/ "You too?".

They quieted up quickly. I do thank them for keeping me from getting overly nervous. The chit-chat worked well.

  7. >>Actually the "shoes" part of shagg refers to making sure the shoes are tied tightly and have no speed laces. So if you're barefoot, i guess you don't have to worry about shoelaces.

What's the problem w/ speed laces? (newbie asking)

the door's up above you... the skyvan door is so freakin huge that you can stand all the way up and still have a foot to spare.

Was George Bush exiting a skyvan when he cracked his noggin? Good example of why to wear a helmet.

Please save some of those kittens you are helping to get rid of. They are how I learned the words to the "Immigrant Song". Thank you Viking Kittens.

  11. I've seen several other threads discussing what sports you enjoy. Haven't seen many polls though. What else do you do on your down time?

We've all seen the hacky scak/frisbee/catch at the dz.... Anyone else spend serious time w/ a sport outside of flying?
