With over 300 jumps at my home DZ, Perris, I decided to try out the equally distant San Diego DZ. This is a small but rapidly developing opperation. The weather is much cooler than Perris during the summer with great views in the air, pretty consistant W-E winds, and large landing area. The new twin otter gets you to 13K fast, the staff and local jumpers were friendly, good shaded packing area, and comfortable lounge / patio to hang out on. The DZ makes its bread and butter on tandem jumps but I had no trouble getting on loads ( did five my first day starting at noon and finishing with a spectacular sunset load ). Food service is very limited so take a lunch or go to nearby restaurants. No liquor licence and no longer any camping or RV. I liked the place and will deffinitely spend more time there.
