2,500 tandems here, wish they were all on Icarus, spot on about the toggle configuration as well.

You need 500 jumps at a lot of them, not just the C.Life is ez

I know Mitchell, Kozak and maybe a few more from your crew. I doubt you followed their advice when it came to buying that VK. Everyone so far ahead of the progression recommendations has a story they tell themselves. Fact is, 2.6 is an outrageous WL for anybody with your experience. This is coming from someone who bought a Velo 103 at 700 jumps, so I took the similar risks, here I am 3000 jumps later still jumping 103 VK... not saying something bad will result but it's a red flag.Life is ez

700' is too low for 270 with a VK at 2.6. I'm above 800 and only loading 2.3... just my opinion.Life is ez

Totally correct, recovery arc will never be like a speedwing, mainly due to lineset length. Maybe a stiletto 150 but you are Lready pushing the w/l recommendations if your jump #s are accurate.Life is ez

Anyone using Chipolo? $25 per unit, 200' range and 12 mo battery apparently. We have a lot of trees, could be a good compromise vs the Iota cost.

Anyone else think it might be useful to have a written section on unusual situations? Strut hang-up, cameraman entangled with drogue, etc. ?Life is ez

As a TM I also like to correct this problem when dropping the rig at the packing mat if I see it rather than leaving it to the packer.Life is ez

Yanni, you should watch this talk https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f2O-Dpw0Yfc. My guess is you are in the 'give it 100% on every jump' phase.Life is ez

I think u can get more out of that turn, you may have missed a step or two downsizing when you did. More harness and higher initiation perhaps. Watch the highlights of the major comps, the top pilots don't have roll in the canopy during the last 100'. If you make a mistake and need to dig out or trim out you'll be at a disadvantage if you have roll near the ground. The freestyle element is totally secondary to a safe and efficient plane out and course entry.Life is ez

this 270 looked sketchy to me, in the last 100' (vertical) you are still turning. There is no clear initiation of the wingover, it looks like a continuous turn all the way from the start of the 270 to the flare. You should finish the turn higher and allow the canopy to point straight and plane out, once you are travelling parallel to the ground and in contact, tow drag or close enough to drag, then you can think about initiating a freestyle move.
How many jumps do you have currently?Life is ez

Using them is fine as long as you don't substitute power for technique. ie. Don't apply essence force to the closing loop and wear it prematurely.Life is ez

I don't know about Cuba but in Mexico it's not the airline, it's the country policy that seems to prevent you from taking them carry on. Both trips there we had to check the rigs on the return flight.Life is ez

I think there's a lesson to be learned here, good paper makes good friends. If you don't like a clause in a contract strike it out and then sign it.Life is ez

Skydive Abel Tasman (Motueka) was a good option back when I was in country. Not sure if it still is currently active with the border control and tourism hit.
