Went out to his DZ three weekends ago just to say hi to a real good old skydiving bud I hadn't seen in quite a long time, however, it was on a weekend he wasn't there at that time, three weeks later.........well.........RIP Scott. You were always someone so many looked up to starting out our skydiving careers.

    Airplanes have killed more skydivers I've know than parachutes.

    I had a rough break up about 3 weeks ago. I would still say I am in the grieving stage, but I am making some improvement. I can actually go outside and not feel so crappy. The thing I look most forward to is the summer...SKYDIVE TIME :)

    But anyways..since the break up I've had these night terrors. Sometimes I wake up to find myself crying and my mother asking if I am okay....I wake up and see a dark figure over my bed and I am freaked out as all hell. Sometimes I don't see anything or remember anything, I just wake up scared out of my mind. A few days before my boyfriend broke up with me, I had a night terror at his place. I woke up crying and saying "They are over there! Please, stop them!" and he said I was legit crying my eyes out and he thought a robber was in his room, haha, Funny to think about...but yeah that's how serious it is.

    Anyone else ever experience this? It's getting annoying. I start a job in a few weeks and have to get up early and I don't want to have this happening a few hours before I wake up...



    There is a physiological condition called 'sleep paralysis' where you can 'half-wake' and it can be pretty freaky.

    When you're in REM sleep you're brain actually 'paralyses' you so you don't thrash around and hurt yourself. Sometimes, you will come out of REM and the 'paralysis' hasn't quite worn off yet. So, you're awake and your eyes are kinda-sorta half open but you can't move. Objects and shadows in the room and take on some pretty weird and freaky looking characteristics because you're not quite out of the sleep-state After a minute or so you come out of it and are fully awake and everything looks normal.

    But, if you don't know what it is you might be popping rounds off at nothing or running off to join the 'alien abduction' support group.

    Don't know if that's what you're talking about but it happens to me every now and again and it's really nothing to get worked up about. I take a look around, see that everything is back to normal, and roll over to catch some more zzzz's.



    Hell, I've paid lots of good money to feel that way. :-0

    BEIJING (Reuters) - A knife-wielding man slashed 22 children and an adult at an elementary school in central China on Friday, state media reported, the latest in a series of attacks on schoolchildren in the country.

    The man attacked the children at the gate of a school in Chenpeng village in Henan province, the Xinhua news agency reported.

    Police arrested a 36-year-old man, identified as villager Min Yingjun, Xinhua said. It did not give further details of the extent of the injuries.

    There have been a series of attacks on schools and schoolchildren around China in recent years, some by people who have lost their jobs or felt left out of the country's economic boom.

    The rash of violence has prompted public calls for more measures to protect the young in a country where many couples only have one child.

    In 2010, a man slashed 28 children, two teachers and a security guard in a kindergarten in eastern China.




    The Chinese obviously have a problem with their culture. I predict these attacks with a knife will continue to become more frequent.

  14. Sued the maker of Zicam Nasal Gel about 10 years ago when its use ruined my olfactory system causing loss of taste and smell. >:( They settled out of court and I have yet to $pend all the money I got from them.;)

    Saw them live in a very small venue in Dallas late 70s. Just another one of those musical experiences that makes you feel like either burning every guitar you have or cutting off fingertips so you have an excuse. :D

  21. Back in the 80s there was a Dallas area jumper they called "couch". He got that name after his fairly new rig was stolen and to insure that never happened again he ordered a replacement rig that included the most god awful earthtone plaid container. Someone mentioned it looked like a worn out couch from the 50s and the name stuck.

    As opposed to atheist bigots who seek to impose their values on the other side? The ones who sued the crew of Apollo 8 for reading from the book of Genesis? That type?

    There's a long history on both sides of the issue.

  23. Curly was one of the AFF examiners in the course I was certified in in 1990 but I'd known him since 1979. On one particular eval jump I was on, he played the role of an extremely jealous husband who was constantly interrupting the ground instruction portion trying to check on his "wife" to see if she was flirting with the other guys. Well, after the jump, he threw his gear off and ran to his car saying something about "killing that worthless bitch" and returned screaming and wild eyed to the packing area brandishing a .45 automatic demanding to know where his "cheatin' ass wife" had gone. The man really loved his work.:D

  25. The town closest to us is so small that there are no cops and its not unusual to see folks, especially in deer season, go into the small general store with a sidearm on their belt. :-)
