  1. Hi Everybody!

Had another great weekend at Skydive Dallas! Scott Rhodes (former Golden Knight) was out this weekend to coach Thunder 8 and Lightning 8. Rick Duran put together a cool Sunset Dive for all us on Saturday with complex block moves. Our weekdays have been getting busy lately, and we're keeping the turbines busy, so come on out after work and make a few skydives.

    4TH OF JULY UPDATE

NO REGISTRATION!!! That's right there's no registration fee. That means more jumps for the money! Come on out and play. There will be plenty of food available from our own "The Dive Cafe" and Rick's BBQ. Fireworks will be allowed on Saturday night. Sunday there will be a DZ Sponsored Fireworks Display.

Flight Line: SKYVAN, SUPER OTTER, SUPER CARAVAN all going to 13,500' for just $20. That's right, we'll have a TAILGATE AIRPLANE here, so you can do a variety of "just plain fun" skydives including TOY JUMPS WITH BRETT BRADLEY.

The Adrenln Wind Tunnel will be here all weekend. You can buy three minutes for just $30. If you'd like to look at rates for larger blocks of time go to adrnln.com.

Hot Air Balloon Jumps: We have hot air balloon jumps available for just $79.00. They'll be taking passengers for the same price, so bring a friend or significant other, and they can watch you jump. Jumps will be made at dawn and in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday, July 3 & 4. Please sign up with our Pro Shop if you want to jump the balloon. (903) 364-5103.

RW Organizing: We will have several levels of RW organizing for this event. With an organizing team this large, headed up by Kate Cooper, Larry Henderson and Duk Miller, we'll be able to divide the jumpers into different skill levels, ensuring FIRST RATE SKYDIVES FOR EVERYONE. This will allow us to shift people around to the appropriate skill level groups.

Freefly Organizing: Team VIBE will be here organizing freefly and track dives for freefliers at all levels. They have some really cool dives already planned.

Manufacturers Reps: We'll have the latest toys available to look over from Sunpath, Mirage, and Alti-2. Come on out and talk with representatives from all of these companies.

    TSL THIS WEEKEND
The first Texas Skydiving League meet in Dallas will be this weekend. The meet plan is six rounds of 4-way on Saturday and 6 rounds of 8-Way on Sunday. You need to register with the TSL. As always, anyone's welcome to come out and watch the event. For more information goto: Texas Skydiving League - http://www.txsl.com/

    CANOPY CONTROL SEMINAR MARCH 22 & 23
Here's a note from Perry Perkins regarding his Canopy Control Seminars:

    >> We'll begin our seminars each day at 8:00 am. The Basic Canopy
    >> Flight program is a series of 5 short seminars followed by a jump to
    >> apply the new skills you've learned. Some people may choose to do
    >> more than 5 jumps for feedback purposes. I recommend no fewer than 3.
    >> This course will include class room instruction on basic canopy flight
    >> principles and technique's. Each jump will include a series of task to
    >> perform under canopy, approximately the last 30 seconds of this will
    >> be videotaped for debriefing purposes.
    >> Each person will learn basic landing techniques, stalls, half brake
    >> approaches, braked turns, flat turns, riser turns, canopy collision
    >> avoidance, traffic patterns, traffic flow, flight planning, accuracy techniques,
    >> and most of all confidence in flying your canopy safely.
    >> For those advanced flyers I will have to watch their techniques and
    >> skill to determine where they are in their abilities and start there training
    >> from there. I do recommend they also sit in on the class room portion of
    >> the basic school.
