  1. Am planning to get married soon, and looking to do it in a hot air balloon then jump out together.

Unfortunatley we're not allowed to do this in UK as you can only get married in certain licenced places.

Any ideas or suggestions as to where this can be done in the USA would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Nigel, I was flipping through a copy of the BPA Paramag and saw that you were on the BOD! Fascinating!

And I was clicking through the forums of DropZone.com and saw that you had won a Gold Medal in Freefly Skydiving! Could this possibly be true?

  3. Thanks for the text m8, just realised what makes it even funnier is you calling Mike and Andy over to take the piss out of Paul just before it happens.

Don't care what you say, don't think 'my shoe lace came undone' is a valid excuse

  4. Ok bit more detail. Was wanting to test out Bedford after the power increase but could only do Wednesday evening, sadly Bedford were choca, so thought may aswell get some time in and booked Milton Keynes. Had an awesome time loads of 2 way head up with marco(Michael). As always with Airkix left feeling euphoric as the air is so choice (powerful and smooth). Then I though may aswell pop in to Bedford on the way home. Got there and managed to blag some time as the staff where having a 'lock in' It was a beutiful experience, I nearly wept the power was awesome, every bit as good as Airkix for freeflying plus you get the bigger tunnel. And the icing on the cake got to fly with Fabian, and then Fabian and rob. At one point we where all facing into centre and hands in middle on a 3 way dock. Don't think this would've been possible for me before the power increase as i was so much using my arms for lift before but now they are free.

Think we should consider ourselves privileged to have 2 of the best wind tunnels in the world.

On balance for me and freeflying it's tricky. They are now both awesome for speed(pressure). The extra space at Bedford is a plus. Also feel a loyalty to Freejive as am good mates with Rob and Chris. Have also made some good friends at Milton Keynes (Marco, and Alec).

Guess for the most part it'll be Bedford and ocassionalyy Airkix to mix it up a bit.

Also think it's such an amazing sport where mere saps like us get to regularly train with the countries/worlds best. oh and Rob:P

  5. It's actually the url rather than content which is a problem, we develop a lot of dating sites, and have recently added a site where people can buy as a present for a friend a voucher which entitles them to membership. the url is gonna be buyyourmateadate.com. Is it any clearer in this context?

  6. Need some help from Americans only. I'm currently working on an international website, and we have a problem with a particular phrase.

Would you interpret the phrase "I'm going to see my mate" as:

    a) I'm going to see my partner/husband/wife

    or

    b) I'm going to see a friend

    Thanks

  7. The great thing about Airkix for solo/2 way free fly is that the air allows a nice neutral (skydivers) sit position so you are in the middle of your speed range which is more comfortable and gives greater mobility and more options to adjust your fall rate when required. (i.e. docks, transitions)

I'm really hoping the adjustment at Bedford will take it to this level. I'll be back there soon to find out!!!

that one can only be technically described as a bad day maybe!

Think that may translate to the first time i tried backflying in a tunnel it was hard, the next time is was a bit easier. Theres no doubt Bedford could pin you to the ceiling on your back before or after the adjustment

I found the 'green' parking area yesterday, which is free

Ermm are you supossed to pay to park in the rest of the car park then?, been a couple of times at about 8-10 at night and never paid any car parking

  10. yep, theres no question it's wrong, but i'm asking is it just wrong, or is it wrong and funny.
    Even though I know it's wrong I'm afraid I couldn'thelplaughing

  11. Apologies for going of topic, and not knocking Rain-man for his choices.

I don't consider my canopy progression to have been overly aggressive, but I have always been ambitious and pushed my limits whilst trying to keep a safety margin. We are talking Sabre2 at 1.3 at 250 jumps, Katana at 1.6 at 500 jumps, and recently Velo at 1.9 at 900 jumps. With these choices some have supported me, and I have received some heat.

You could be potentially the worlds greatest canopy pilot, and I don't want to bring that into question. The thing that amazes me is that any CCI in England or anywhere else for that matter would let somebody with 200 jumps on a VX at 2.45. My reason for saying this has nothing to do with your ability (I don't know you and haven't seen you fly it), but if you were to seriously injure or kill yourself there would be an inquiry and I don't think the BPA would look favourably on the CCI who let you jump it.
To back this up I dislocated a shoulder on opening on the Katana at 600 jumps, and the BPA response to the incident report highlighted my 1.6 wing loading as very ambitious.
Would be very interested to hear more about your progression, and the reaction of peers, instructors, CCI's.
Welcome to PM me if you would prefer.
