Kid_Icarus 0 #1 September 13, 2007 My wife and I are going to Santa Fe for our 1st anniversary. Wondering who's been and what they've done there. We like restaurants and museums. What's on peoples hit list? Thanks! ________________________________________ "What What.....
LisaM 0 #2 September 13, 2007 The Ore House (http://www.orehouseontheplaza.com/) on the square in Old Town is a good place to eat. Sit upstairs outside for a nice view of the square. There is a church on the square called Loretto Chapel . It has a super cool spiral staircase that has two complete 360-degree turns with nosupports. It's very cool! http://www.usatourist.com/english/places/newmexico/santafe.html ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

There are lots of spanish and native history type museums either on the plaza, or very near it. For touristy mexican food, visit Tomasitas. Very tasty. A bit more upscale, The Shed. I've never been there, but I hear it's fantastic. Loretto Chapel is very cool, St. Francis Cathedral on the plaza is also very history filled and interesting. There are tons of galleries on the plaza if you're into art browsing, it's a fun place to just wander. If you like hiking the Sangre de Christos are very nice, get directions to the SF ski area and there are lots of hiking trail heads as you go up. Might get some yellow aspens this time of year, but might be a tad early, depending on weather, etc. You can probably get a loooong list of stuff to do at the front desk of any hotel on or near the plaza. Have fun, it's a cool town |>.Seriously, W.T.F. mate?
LisaM 0 #4 September 13, 2007 Well I am from the midwest so what do I know. Ooh. The Shed is good too! PS. If you ask a local of Chicago what The Shed is they will tell you to go to the Aquarium on Lake Michigan. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
