Lido dz

Lido Lakes Rated 5 by: stimpy on 2004-05-28

Pros: friendly people and things work
Cons: it's only a weekend dz !

I've jumped there a number of times. Normally things work, which is saying something in Asia ! Normally if we can't jump it's due to the weather which you get at any dz. i've probably done 150 jumps at Lido. the view is great of the volcanos. the people are v. friendly and will usually insist that you join them for a beer ! packers are pretty reliable, i have had many pack jobs and they've all been fine so far. jump prices are quite reasonable for asia at around the USD20 mark. you never know what aircraft will turn up for you to jump out of. i've jumped everything from a cessna 182 to a super puma and a herc in indonesia, so depends a bit on your luck ! a group regularly goes from so check with them if they have a group going to the dz and it can make a real weekend of it. one of my favorite dz's. blues,

Lido DZ

Lido Lakes Rated 4 by: kilat3 on 2003-08-11

Pros: The only professional DZ in South East Asia
Cons: During the rainy season, the weather is quire unpredictable.

Lido DZ has one of the best free fall comunity in Asia. WIth all it's experienced divers, it offers all a skydiver can dream of: clear skies, pleasent weather, nice people, exelent facilities, good track record, and helpfull personnel to help every one. If stopping in Jakarta for a short stay before going to Bali, take the trip to Lido and try at least one jump. The view from the air is fantastic, the old vulcanoes, the atmosphere. Defeiatelly not a place to miss.
