First Dropzone.com Amateur Skydiving Video Contest

The Dropzone.com Amateur Video Contest is now open for business! Grab some footage, mix in your tunes and edit your way to glory. The winner of our video competition will walk away with a Sony HDR-HC3 HDV 1080i 2.1 Megapixel Handycam Camcorder. To get in on the action simply shoot some film of you or your mates jumping from a plane doing a few tricks. Make sure it doesn't suck. Edit it into a smoking hot 2-5 minute skydiving video, tag it and submit it to the competition. That's it, you're on your way to fame and glory.

- Write your acceptance speech!

What's the loot?
Besides bragging rights the winners will be getting some hardware to show off at the DZ:

The top 5 entries will also receive a Aerial Camera DVD by Norman Kent and VASST
Who will be picking the winner?
The winners will be chosen by our most honorable panel of judges. While at least one of these judges are are simply in it for the vanity (and the bribes!), the others actually have some knowledge of freefall videography:Hit me with the Rules!
- You must hold the copyright to the video. Any fakes or stolen videos will be removed.
- You must be an "amateur" - meaning you have not produced and sold a professional skydiving movie/DVD and do not make your living primarily from videography
- The final video must be between 2 and 5 minutes in length.
- Eligible video entries must be tagged: videocontest01
- You can enter as many clips as you want.
- You can either upload or stream your videos from YouTube using our video stream feature.
- The competition will run till April 15, 2008. No entry will be accepted after midnight (GMT), April 15 , 2008.
- After confirmation of winner eligibility has been made the winner will be announced on Dropzone.com on April 25, 2008.
- The prizes is as listed. No cash substitutions will be allowed. Prizes can not be transferred to another person.
- If the winner cannot be reached via the phone number, e-mail address or mailing address in their Dropzone.com Account by April 25, 2008, a disqualification will result, and an alternate winner will be chosen.
- The judge's decision is final on all matters concerning the contest.
- Dropzone.com employees and their immediate families shall not be permitted to participate in the competition.
- The winner agrees to permit his/her name and photographic likeness to appear on Dropzone.com.
- The winner will assume and be responsible for payment of the required federal withholding tax, if any, and all other fees, and local, state and federal taxes.
- Void where prohibited, taxed, or restricted by law.
- All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
