  2. Hello everyone! We have a small team of engineers and sportsmen, and we decided to develop a headset for communication in a wind tunnel and when jumping with a wingsuits. In general, for communication in extremely noisy and windy places. For more than a year, and more than $100,000 of invested money, we have achieved good results. We have already made a prototype and filed for a patent, soon I will be able to tell everything in more detail, I hope). We have reached the stage of the naming of the device, in order to create Branding and I want to know your opinion, which name do you like best? Which name is more suitable? 1. Larry - a reference to the laryngophone, which is based on our device (also Lary, Larri). 2. Kenoha - from Japanese, the blade of the sword (metaphor, cutting through the noise in the Wind tunnel like a sword blade). 3. Strom - Like a storm, also a metaphor (also Stroom, Stromm). 4. LuftStrom - Wind and storm. If you have any other options for the name, you can also write! Thank you). *By the way, if during this time you found some device that worked in the pipe and completely satisfied your needs, let me know.
  3. Hello everyone, I had recently made my 200th skydive and I am now allowed to do a wingsuit first flight course by the USPA restrictions. Flying a wingsuit was the reason I started skydiving and I always said my 201th jump is going to be with things but... I recently started to talking with some instructors and wingsuit flyers at my DZ and some of them recommended that I would wait and make more jumps before the FFC. Some of them said that for most skydivers 200 jumps are not enough and you should get more experience. On the other hand I know some skydivers that had began wingsuiting right on the 201th jump and of course they are saying to just buy a suit and start learning. I want to hear some more opinions on this matter. If 200 is really not enough - what do you recommend? I know for most its not a number problem (there are plenty "old" skydivers with at least 1000 jumps who can still be dangerous to others). For me, I have descent skills with tracking and angle flight, I know how to keep on heading and to do a good break off track. I am also pretty descent under my canopy and can return from a longspot if neccessary. What do you think? Wingsuiting is my dream but I also understand (at least I think I am) the dangers of the dicsipline and the dangers of recklessness in this sport.
  4. Hi I'm student of aviation college and I want to design a wingsuit as a project I will so pleasure if there is any body to do this project I need some information about WS that I can't find them in articles 1. I need some real pictures for one WS from different angle 2. Is there anybody know about aerodynamic design of WS? Airfoil number? Pitching moment of airfoil? 3. What's your opinion of I want to change the classic design of WS and new suit look like "Horten H O 229"? Is it a good idea?

  7. Hello. Beginner (~300 ws jumps, 200 in a small suit, ~100 in intermediate) wingsuit pilot looking for advice here :) I am trying to learn how to gain as much altitude as possible in my WS, but I really struggle at the moment. I jump a lot of solo jumps where I just dive-level-flare the whole jump using Flysight, but most of the time is can see I waste all that energy I have at the beginning of the flare. I have of course watched and read all videos and articles on the topic. What causes the most confusion for me is the input needed to start transitioning into level flight. In Squirrel video they say "push your toes down". What the hell exactly does that mean? I'm assuming my toes should still remain pointed and stretching the suit. Where should this movement come from? Does it mean adding pressure to the legwing through bending in hips using your abs? I have noticed, my best flares so far (12 and 10 meters (39 and 33 feet)) came from jumps where I did not do a steep dive and was going full power at GR 1+ and then started the flare, which again indicates I waste all power transitioning from the steep dive. Could someone help me out with the advice on this? I fly AG Inspire 2 which is very similar to ATC2, here is an example of my better flares (https://skyderby.ru/tracks/51391, https://skyderby.ru/tracks/46946) and here is the example of "wasteful" (https://skyderby.ru/tracks/51356)

  10. Hi guys, has someone already tried the new Kraken by NZ? What do you think of it? I bought one (129 size) but only managed to do 1 jump before the winter arrived. Therefore I cannot say much except the opening was stable and on heading. The flare is a bit weak but it might be down to being cautious and not loading it too much. thank you
  11. The following video was posted on social media last week and shows a harrowing scene of a wingsuit jumper suffering a collision shortly after exit. The collision appears to knock the jumper unconscious, as he then begins to spin uncontrollably as he descends in freefall. The spin amplifies the lower he gets - until finally his AAD activates and saves his life by crucially firing while he is seemingly unconscious. You can follow or contribute to this conversation in the following forum post: A forum post from a Dropzone.com user has shed some light on the situation... "If I remember correctly group of 4. Leader fumbled exit a little. The 2&3rd guys start flying the planned direction right on exit. The 4th guy has the time and awareness to see the leader and starts diving to the leader. Guys 2&3 now correcting from intended flight path toward leader, intercepted by guy number 4. None of them are new guys. Super lucky that the guy who had the AAD fire walked away with no major injuries. The guy who hit this guy is a good friend of mine and is very heads up and a skilled 4-way flier with more WS jumps than FS. The example here is that if it can happen to guys like him it can happen to you." - Slimrn The topic of AADs can sometimes be a controversial one, many experienced jumpers believe they don't need them and some even view dropzones that have AAD requirements negatively. However, this event goes to show that sometimes the AAD can play a crucial role in saving your life, especially in the case of midair collisions which result in a loss of consciousness.
  12. Hello Everyone I'm a designer working on a student project specifically designing for women I was wondering for all the women out there participating with wingsuits, what are your problems with your current wingsuit or what do you enjoy about your current one, what do you look for in a wingsuit, and what would you like to see in one. And are there any differences or advantages that women have over men while flying in the wingsuit.

  19. Hi all, I hope someone will have the time to give me a piece of advice. A few things about me first as I haven't posted before on this forum : My name : Morad Location : Lille, france Jump numbers : 650, mostly tracking and tracing jumps Wingsuit jumps : 13 on an S-fly Indy I recently discovered the pleasure of wingsuiting. What a thrill ! This feeling of gliding, the jump that seems to last forward even on my small wingsuit... I started with an S-fly indy which is a small wingsuit. I want to invest in what we call a level 2 wingsuit in France. (intermediate). I have my eyes, like many, on a new swift 3 but I found someone selling a funk 1 at my size for half the price of the new swift 3. What would you do ? Would a funk 1 be a good first wingsuit if I up my jumps numbers to 30/40 on the Indy ? Is now a good time to invest in swift 3 or is squirrel about to release a swift 4 ?
