  1. Hi, I want to get my TI rating in Germany in 2014. Most of my previous 370 jumps have been Freefly and Wingsuiting, I only got about 60 belly jumps up to 3 way so far because on my DZ all the kids fly in sit or HD.. Now I would like to ask you experienced guys what you would recommend in terms of TI prep work during my next 130+ jumps so I don't run into problems in the course or on my first tandem jumps. I'm not very tall, 5'7", but I understand it can be done with some "not so huge" students in the beginning. I asked three TIs on my DZ about their opinion, their answers ranged from "You will be fine, so real prep needed" up to "OMG you're a lightweight/short Freeflier/Wingsuiter, you're gonna f***ing die!!" What do you think? And what should I focus on during my next belly jumps?
  2. Kolomna is the biggest: www.aerograd.ru Puschino is a little bit closer and is said to be very busy as well. Some Russian wingsuiters told me that there are more WS flying than over Kolomna https://www.facebook.com/dzskycenter Haven't been there myself yet (planning a tunnel trip to Freezone in 2014), so this is 2nd hand information
  3. Demoed a Piranha once. Great build quality and looks. Unfortunately, it was too large for me but it still flew well. Would be interested in hearing opinions about their Shark and the new Shark2
  4. Resurrecting this older threat: Has anyone got some new experiences with the Intrudair Shark or the new released Shark 2 ? Seems to be pretty similar to a Vampire? How do you like it? (Shark2 is not on their website yet but I've heard of demo suits and the first ones being shipped already). I have seen the Piranha on various occasions in the last months. Build quality seems to have improved a lot and pilots are mostly very happy with it. But no Shark around on my dropzones yet.
  5. I got a Mirage M4 Size M2 / PD Optimum 143 and a Pulse170. It fits right, but a 190 would be really hard to squeeze in. If you put a PDR143 in your rig then there will be even less space because it packs bigger.
  6. [replyWould it be definitely better to add 500 euro and get an Icon Pro? If you ever plan on reselling it some time - yes.
  7. Pic attached.. seen on FB. Looks interesting
  8. I did my FFC at Skydive Elsinore this spring and can highly recommend it. They got plenty of suits in all different sizes and the staff with DSE, Joel, Darren and Tom is more than awesome. Groundschool was perfect down to the last detail, so the first jump felt like a breeze. Besides, Elsinore is a beautiful DZ and has got a very positive vibe.
  9. Sounds great.. but how accurate will it be compared to a flysight?
  10. Klatovy, 130km from Prague. Pink Skyvan operating there http://www.pinkskyvan.com/
  11. Yeah okay, you are right. It just came to my mind because it's very easy to spend 10000 bucks in the tunnel in a very short period of time - on the other hand, cranking out 1000 jumps in the sky would take an average jumper about 4 years (and me at least 8 ) I probably should stop thinking of the tunnel as only a "workhorse" to aquire skills and believing the real fun only takes place in the sky and get to the attitude that building up 10hrs tunneltime over the years is okay, too.
  12. Woah.. sounds like all headdown freeflyers earn quite a penny in their jobs.. or did you guys all sell your house or car to learn headdown? I just can't afford to blow more than 10000$ literally in the air for that Maybe I should apply for a part-time job at a tunnel in order to get free airtime
  13. D'oh.. the time would not be a problem.. the money for more than 10hrs tunneltime sure is
  14. How much tunneltime did you need until you took off the net headdown and more or less stable without an instructor holding on to you? I'm not talking total tunneltime but just for learning headdown from the start. I am aware that it depends on talent and current level, but I am interested how long it took YOU
  15. Illertissen, 25km from Ulm (South on A7) http://www.paranodon.de/sites/info.html Tandem 190€
  16. Hi stayhigh, Can you please give me a little more detailed information? - What makes Lodi for "non-badasses" like me with 150 jumps so difficult? The DZO, not getting slots because of tandem priority, the landing conditions or skygods? - Which Perris rules do you mean killing the fun factor? - And what are "real" and "fake" tunnels? Do you only consider recirculating tunnels "real"?
  17. Hmm too bad. 40 loads average on a weekday sounds good. How many loads are they turning on weekdays without special camps on a May weekday in Elsinore? I've heard all numbers from 2 to 20
  18. Yes, I know that My trip begins in San Francisco and my return flight departs from Phoenix, AZ. So Lodi, Hollister, Monterey Bay, Elsinore, Perris, San Diego and Eloy are all on my way
  19. Thanks to all of you for your input! I guess I will do the majority of my jumps at Elsinore. However I am curious about all the rumors going on about Lodi, maybe I will check it out for a few jumps if the weather is okay.
  20. I got one, so do a lot of guys at my home DZ. Good looks, good quality of material and sewing. The fit is good if you get the elastic back. But they sometimes screw up with the measurements. I had to return my suit two times because it was too tight, and legs were too long although I gave them correct measurements. Some other guys also had to return their suits with fitting issues. The Intrudair staff however is very nice, they fixed everything for free. If it fits, it's a good suit. Love the optional ventilation openings on thighs and arms.
  21. There are some full time DZs, however they are often closed on Mondays or Tuesdays, so you should better check with them in advance. Fehrbellin, close to Berlin: www.funjump.de , Grand Caravan Gojump, close to Berlin: www.gojump.de , PAC Leutkirch, 90km Southwest of Munich: www.skydive-nuggets.de , currently Porter, soon Supervan900 Close to Bremen: http://www.yoursky.de/ Cessna182 Kassel: http://www.skydive.de/ Caravan and sometimes TwinOtter I think I missed out a few, but these are the biggest DZs here. You can also check www.sprungplatzkarte.de for a map of all German DZs (available in German only)
  22. Hi, I am from Germany and want to go to California and get at least 50 jumps during my vacation in May to break the 200 required for wingsuiting. Because I am not a rich guy, I checked cheap places to jump and, of course, came down to Lodi, CA. But I've heard and read a lot about a rather bad reputation of aircraft safety and the rather rude vibe. Is that still like that? And is the place also busy during weekdays? Regarding that I decided that it's worth spending a few more bucks if I am having more fun and higher safety standards and I heard really great things about Elsinore, they also got good block ticket rates. But this place seems smaller than the (little more expensive) Perris neighbourhood. Can you guys tell me how many loads Elsinore is turning on average weekdays in May? Will I be able to get 50 jumps within one week? Of course a good thing would be going to Perris on weekdays and to Elsinore on weekends, but I want to buy only one ticket block. Can you help me out here?
  23. UPT had an ad in Blue Skies Mag with Vectors in digital urban camo used by the guys from Axis Flight school, so I guess you can order it, too. Looks similar to the new Navy Working Uniform pattern, very cool.
