  1. ....Hi all, just an update on the Thanksgiving weekend jump scene. Geared to those of us who aren't going to CSS; SDV will be having $15.00 jumps on the weekend. Sure would be fun if any of the 'Dogs' would like to check out our DZ. there'er about 4 of us regulars who're into the CReW scene. Nothing fancy; aspiring CReW dawgs!! ;-). Mainly Tri's, 1 Lightning and sundry 9 cells. Do check us out, we'd like to meet like souls and maybe you'll stick around!! Cheers always, Riverdog HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  2. .....Yo Webster! That would help. Doug seems to have the same problem. HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  3. ...don't mind the slow openings except that I'm always a wee bit leery about watchin your canopy unfurl above you on a consistent basis!! HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  4. ....purchased a brand new Tri 160 Hybrid for CReW. HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  5. .....thanks!! We're working on a spankin new CReW team down here in VA. Pretty much all of us are Greenhorns with (I Think!) a built-in CReW gene!! HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  6. Compared to a Lightning any thing is too soft and slow though .....I'm with you on that!!! Almost bit my tongue off on a 'wierd' deployment (5 secs after exit!!!). i like how they fly though (Lightnings) HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  7. .....just wanted some input on Turbo ZX's openings. I recently purchased a ZX 165 and my exit weight is about 200-205, which puts the wing loading at approx 1.3 ratio. I find the openings to be way too soft and I do not roll the canopy. The canopy tends to open quite slow; no line twists, simply slow. I have a buddy who jumps the same and has the same problem. Any advise or thoughts? Thanks, HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  8. ......I use a clothes peg on the outside of the bag to hold the bridle line tight and the rings together and then take it off after stowing the rigging lines. ..Now that is a good I.D ah! I generally use a pen to kind of move the fabric inside so's the rings don't 'burn' the topskin. HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  9. ...Oh, just checked with the manufacturer. They are set up with the 3 ring system for retractable PC as well as CReW lines. Thanks guys!!! HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  10. ....I've just gotten my new Tri Hybrid. I want to get it modified for CReW....blocks and retractable PC. Now this 'Vet Wrap' thing. Will any rigger be able to retrofit it? Frankly, risering has worn my arms and shoulders a wee bit. I think this would definitely help. HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  11. And you forgot to add "always bring an extra apir of shoes. YES INDEED!! This past weekend, my CReW bud and me were pulling off 'Downplanes', when on our second DP ( Same dive) at break off I ended up with his shoe on my finger!!! Funny, except that the day after my finger's the size of a lemon!! HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
  12. ....well, I find it interesting that you advocate the 'Astra'. Hven't heard too much, or rather anything about the Pros and Cons of it. Perhaps its the prevailing popularity of the CYPRES unit or the relatively insignificant number of ASTRA units out there. As too turniing off AADs while jumping CReW; Yes, that is something I've always done. In any case, I'd appreciate it if you could clue me in on the better features of the ASTRA in relation to CYPRES. 13. Hi there, I see that one of my fellow CrEw dawgs is on the list (DJL). I've just purchased a new rig and am having reservations about hooking up a CYPRES on it , at least for the moment. We are seriously considering buying identical Lightnings at some point soon. Right now, I am on a Turbo ZX 165. I think DJL is on the same, but a 185. What are some opinions on doing CReW with or without a CYPRES setup. Thnx, RPV HISPA #37 Do CReW!!! 'Be CRew'd, Blue'd 'n' Lewd!!'
