  1. Oh is that what my profile says!? Bahahaha! I should change that! Edit: Fixed. Tho I wouldn't judge too much on someone's profile. I haven't been on this site in for ever and I just came here to get ideas to what to present, which already paid up! Thanks guys!
  2. Hi everyone! I got task to give a presentation at our Safety Day in March following a conversation I had last year with someone that just bought a full face helmet and the steps they would need to do when it comes to start jumping with one. So I came here to see if I can get a few more ideas to give a more complete presentation. So what piece gear would you think require some "warning" or tip & tricks when first jumping with them? Here's my ideas at of now but please add details/items if you have ideas: - Full face helmet - When to close/open it, practice the opening sequence - Shaded visor (bleh) - Digital Alti - When to turn it on/off, what to know about them, pro/con compare to analogue, battery change if require - Audible Alti - When to turn it on/off, not a replacement for visual alti, battery change if require - New lines - What to know about lines, hop n pop or full altitude on first jump, when to change them - New canopy - How to downsize/change type, when are you ready to change, hop n pop or full altitude of first jump - Camera - When you can have one, what to look for, different mount, cut away system - Jump suits - Material and discipline - Skydiving gloves - When to wear them and what they should be - EP handles, D-ring or Soft ? So does anything comes up beside that? Also, what would you like to be present during a presentation on these items that I might forget? Appreciate the help!
  3. Hi beautiful people! I just broke the curve mount of my Drift HD Ghost (I know, old ass camera, but it still works great) and was wondering if any of you might have an extra I could buy from you? The Drift website only sells 5 at a time and with shipping it's way to expensive for what it's worth. So if any of you has extra, I'd be happy to buy it from you! Thanks, -A
  4. Good day everyone! Para Montreal's event, Drop Out 2016 is a week away and since I decided to skip Summerfest this year () I've decided to make it up for it to go to the Canadian equivalent. As my first (don't you f*cking dare!!!!) experience with this boogie, I wanna go all in with a bang. I'm planning on bringing my sketchy tube (with old and frail) but would love to be able to get more tube into the jump and get amazing jumps out of it. Can anyone here going bring their tube ? Also, what should I know about this event (even during the Canadian HD Record, best of luck to you all!) that would make the experience more enjoyable? Cheers, ~A Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  5. Always take mine off... well mr 80 some jump wonder should be told this. Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  6. Good day! So last weekend, I got informed that a lovely 80 jumps wonder came to a fellow packer, that just borrowed my tool, that no one uses the Power Tool for packing normal rig, it is only used for tandems. So, I'm a packer myself for many years, use the power tool since day 1. Seen a lot of DZ with a lot of packers using them. But I couldn't justify answering to Mr Know-it-all because I don't really have facts about this subject (I won't reply to something I don't have all the fact) but just opinion and what I saw right. So I came here to ask you, are the Power Tool not getting used as much as I thought? Am I doing it wrong? And what about you, are you for or against using them? Thanks, Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  7. Hey guys, So I got ask to present a subject at safety day this weekend and I got "In Plane/Exit Security". I would need to talk about multiple aspect of that phase of a skydive so here what I got so far: - Proper Seating Arrangement (in general) - Gear Protection - Gear Check - Things to do in plane (mental rehearsal and such) - Exit Order - Exit separation - Exit preparation - Lights meaning - Spot Check (not in detail, just to do it and not be afraid to call a bad spot). What else would you guys talk about? Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  8. This. Changing the wingloading on an already pretty sporty canopy size (a 150 is a 150, even at 0.9) that someone already has very few jumps on is worth being cautious about. They're still figuring out how to land anything, let alone something that changes behaviour. You guys clearly miss my point. Common when you read a conversation and miss the tone of voice. For the point you are saying, yes, you are right. But it does not goes against where I was going with this. And these change I wanted to offer her are not something to do on the very next jump, we talking long terme. Everything to help her live the sport to the maximum. I doubt I'll be jumping with her anytime soon but it's a conversation she keeps having with me or other people and I just wanted something concrete to tell her so that she could move on and go toward that goal. And I got what I needed already. Thanks guys. Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  9. The problem is not between her and I, I'm mostly septic about her ability to do big ways with other people that weight heavier than her. Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  10. We're all on the track of thoughts. Sadly she keeps freaking out because it will mean she has a more aggressive landing (on a 150!!!) Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  11. Ah! Well she has about 25 jumps, time for her to learn to HD. Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  12. Greetings! So a friend of mine started jumping last season. One evening, I went to her DZ and jumped with her. Now there if a huge weight difference. I'm 210lbs as she's 100lbs if not less (without gear). I knew that it would be close to impossible for me to slow down my fall rate compare to her, but she wanted to. Now I told her that she needed to get some weight, vest or belt. But she doesn't want to hear it saying "it hurts too much". What would you guys suggest I do? I want her to experience what this sport is all about but if she keeps to her 100lbs she'll always have problem jumping with other and not enjoy what this sport can show you. In other words, have any counter points that would convince her to wear a weight aid? Cheers, Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  13. We have Tim Hortons for that :P Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  14. Come see us! You're problem will now be "everyone wants to sleep with me!" :P Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  15. You guys are funny! Glad that I'm not the crazy one here! First round on me! ;) Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  16. That's the problem, is by the time I invite her to the DZ to explore the social aspect of it all, where we all know great people hang around the DZs of this world, she was fed up with everything skydiving related. She hates the sport because of ripped us appart. such is life! Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  17. I was at first ... until I realize what you've just said! Cheers guys! ;) Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  18. Oh! I tried! When I got back from SF, and looked at all the video online of the event... I felt like I was gonna get stab "You've just spent a week skydiving and first thing you do is watch video!!!" And that's the other thing! She had no hobbies herself! What so ever! I was her main source of entertainment! Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  19. Hey fellow sky people! So after a few months, yet another relationship has been kill by our love of the sport. I've come to wonder if it's possible to get a future with someone who doesn't enjoy a few moment of pure liberty as we do on regular bases. That being said, I work at a DZ that is 90min away. As a Coach and Packer, I'm expected to be present every weekend (weekend only DZ) as I have been for the past 4 season. Even when I first met the, now just turned Ex, girl, I've warned her with the situation that I am absent every weekend, for 7 months a year, doing something I truly love. As the week past, she started to realize that yeah, I am truly gone, truly away... and problems slowly start to build. Insecurity kicked in (as she heard of some of the drama and/or shenanigans that happens on DZ), negative conversation applied. And to make thing worst, I made my way to summerfest in Chicago for the full event and was gone and almost unreachable for 10 days... which cost a lot relationship wise (it's over, okay it's not and so on). Once I came back it was never truly the same. The relationship had a scar between us and it was always about me being absent. Starting to think about me quitting when we have kids (yes, this early) and having a weekend off a month to spend with her. That last one I didn't mind much, outside the fact that she never had the intention to come spend a weekend at my DZ with me and all the crazy but great people that also call it their 2nd home. So I ask her what she would do if I went to summerfest next year, and 10 minutes later I was officially single. /rant over What do you guys think about dating a whuffo? Is it possible? or am I stuck having to date a girl at my DZ that will only bring more problems... Cheers, Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!

SPOILER for that part of the game but ... the guys he kills is the protagonist of GTA IV Lost and Damned DLC. I've finish the story after extensive play session but I barely did any side activities. a tip for those that are still in the main story, DON'T DO LESTER'S SIDE QUEST!!!!!! He gives tips about market income and if you do it at the end where you have a lot of money you can make A LOT! of money back! I still couldn't get into the online. 24. *pause for sex jokes ...* Done? Good! I've still consider new in the sport with my 2 years and 250 jumps. But as a 6'2", 210 lbs guy, I've notice that size really does make a difference when it comes to jumping with people. I usually can manage in some ways but I think I've reach the limits of possibilities with a friend of mine. She's 5'3", 95 lbs and just started jumping (currently awaiting her AFF progression because of winds and lack of instructor on her home DZ) and decided to go do some tunnel time to get comfortable in the air before carrying on in the sky. Once at the tunnel, no instructor could fly with her cause she is ... "petite". The power was at 56%. Now I thought the average flyers flies between 76-81% (unless I'm mistaken). I know she can wear weights and all but will that make a differences in the long run? I doubt she will wear a 50 lbs weight belt. What are the possibilities of her and I fly together ? And what tips could you give her (beside over eating) that could make her experience in the sport that much better? Cheers! Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
  25. Sounds like the same thing as a Canadian Season! ;) Avikus - Packer and Jumper - Hate landing with the plane!
