  1. I will still join up with the Canadian invasion in Eloy, but i'd really like to plan a 3 month stay in Perris and make a few hundred jumps. How well will a fresh CSPA certification be recognized there? I only have 40 jumps and I don't even have my "A" License yet. A lot of my jumps aren't even logged. I assume they wouldn't make me do any AFF, but maybe a special coached jump to make sure i adhere to all the rules? Is this correct? Will I be able to get USPA endorsed and work towards my licenses just as I would in Canada?

  2. it can work the other way too... i worked with a guy who doubted that i actually jumped. At the time i knew him i had over 20 jumps, and he caught me changing my numbers one time because i included my 4 hop n pops (for a total of 24) and the other time i didn't (20). right away he thought he caught me in a lie and tried to call me on it. His words exactly: "haha you're lying". After my trip i came back and was showing everybody a coached video jump on my laptop. Of course his comment was "that doesn't even look like you".

Yeah, there are really people like that... so make sure you always give someone the benefit of the doubt until you're 100% sure they're full of shit.

  3. car signal lights are not the best analogy IMO because then we are talking about signalling a turn rather than simple acknowledgement which is a lot different. It would be more like seeing somebody in the next lane on the highway and waving to let them know you're there so they don't cut you off. Isn't it? Not saying that's a bad idea either..........................................lol

... shouldn't you keep a safe distance whether you see each other or not?

Now I understand your handle. :)

thanks for that comment dude. if you have seen me post before, i ALWAYS form my posts as questions to show full respect towards experienced jumpers and at the same time to acknowledge that i am very new to the sport and still have a lot to learn. I never say anything with a "know-it-all" attitude (something i hope i never have, even when i have 93 jumps!). I just question it -- so that i LEARN. My question was pretty valid considering that I consider my home DZ to be very professional and so i can't help but wonder why they have never taught me this safety measure.

Honestly i thought it was more important to maintain situational awareness on all traffic around you, whether you're waving at each other or not. Obviously there is more to it, and i respect this new information. Thanks.

    to an over 21 establishment

Again, the OP is not in a backwards country where the age of majority and the drinking age are different.

its 19 everywhere in this country except Alberta, quebec and manitoba which is 18.
So you're right.. this is NOT AN ISSUE. It's going to be awhile before i start making trips to Eloy, and there's no other reason why I would go to the states at this point.

Skydiving has a very small community in this country, the total number of jumpers is less than 7000. Therefore DZs are extremely territorial and anything bad said about them tends to get around quite quickly due to the small community.

If I mention the country and the DZ then it is quite possible to be blacklisted. 2 people received bans merely for organizing trips to other DZs

Do have any idea how pathetic you sound? Stand up like a man and tell them you are not going to earn their paycheck any more. Just pay the kit rental, walk through the lines, leave the toggles dragging through the dirt and leave the rig in a heap. Take the next one off the shelf and walk away. these people are not gods (and they are certainly not your friends), they are packers; the bottom rung of the dz hierarchy. Stop being such a chump.

solid post. he should even go back to the 340 just to keep them extra busy! The tables would turn pretty fast.

were Her plans to make a skydive in Place... BEFORE you met her???

..or did you influence that idea??
Was the place where you met, AT a dropzone... or some Other establishment...??

That's the best part.. i had nothing to do with it! Her sister and brother have done their first jump courses and so she was already familiar with it all. she didn't even ask me any crazy whuffo questions! she knew a lot of shit about the course and was genuinely interested.

I met her on an online dating site :S she messaged ME and things went from there. I was doubtful before meeting her and it felt kind of wrong, but once we hit it off we were both very much into each other. Yes she can legally drink here so that's what we did, but didn't get wasted so we weren't influenced. :P Despite her age, she seems like a female version of myself. We share the same opinion about EVERYTHING, and we were constantly finishing each others sentences (like you would see in some cheesy chick flick) because of how much we were on the same level. It was retardedly great.

and yeah she lives in her dads basement right now. [:/]

  8. I met this girl last night. We clicked.. and i mean REALLY clicked. I'm 28 and she's 19. Is that borderline not cool? Attn Angry fathers: feel free to give me shit -- i want to really know if anyone in my family or her family might have a problem with this by getting a real feel for what the general public has for this specific age difference. I'll be 29 in september and she'll be 20 in november. That almost sounds better for some reason.

btw she is REALLY excited for her first jump. She talks about it with passion, but here's the best part -- she has never even been up in a plane. ever. Even just the opportunity to introduce her to a plane ride gives me a hard on. :|

  9. my civic and crotch rocket are both blue..
i bought both of them after my ex-girlfriend dumped me for very shallow reasons.

I came to the conclusion after i got over her than she was in fact, EVIL. And, well... she LOVED THE COLOR RED. From that moment forward i started liking everything that was blue, because good (blue) triumphs over evil (red) somehow.. and I will always fight her evil "kind". Immature? yes... but then it just stuck. lol

  10. It's so easy a monkey could do it! When they tell you on the radio to turn right 90 degrees, pull down on the right toggle until you're 90 degrees! So easy! They'll even tell you when to flare when you land. So simple! You'll even have an over sized student canopy that is almost impossible to stall, and extremely forgivable... sharp input vs soft input won't really matter when you're turning. You'll be begging them to take you off radio after a few jumps!

  11. but den yo daddy comes by, takez your hoz, stealz ur bling as his boyz jump yo ass. hmm i wonder who dis daddy may be, oh thats right, its me, n*****! the DZ girlz are EZ 4 me. they always beggin "please me!". shitttt! word

So I'm pretty new to the sport. I have about 20 jumps now and every time I'm out at the dz there are at least three 10/10s working and another 2 or 3 there doing tandems. is this normal? i'm thinking i gotta get on dat der cell tech and bulk up before i go back out. oh yeah and most of the guys at the dz are like 3-5s, srs... so this helps my odds. one heavenly blessed beauty was so breathtaking i would dive head first into a pool of aids infested needles then cover myself in salt if i just had a 1 in 10 chance to smell the butt of the jumpsuit she last farted in.

can you translate this into something understandable for us
    foreigners ?

he's trying to say that there are some extremely attractive woman working at his dz. dont know what he means with the cell tech shit tough..

it's a bodybuilding supplement name brand..
he wants to bulk up a bit so that he can take the relationship to the next level. maybe he will get to smell that jumpsuit after all!

  13. I remember reading about a journalist who was flying to Afghanistan who talked of a special type of landing they would have to make as to avoid being shot at by taliban forces who had positions close to the airport. They would keep a high altitude until they were directly above the airfield, and then "nose dive" all the way down and level off just in time to make a regular landing pattern.

I got curious about this again because i just listened to Graham Hancock and he was talking of a similar landing his pilot had to do in Ethiopia back in the 90's to avoid being shot at.

What is this landing called? It sounds more intense than skydiving IMO.. lol...
