The Oldest Tandem Student I Have Jumped Was . . .
dsbbreck replied to slotperfect's topic in Instructors
I took a lady who was 94 last summer. She was the calmest tandem I ever took. She said she wasn't afraid of anything at that age, she'd been through it all. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question." -
Hey travis, is that our hybrid from this weekend? David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

Did you hear the one.... A guy prayed to God every morning for 50 years....Please God Let me win the Lottery.....After 50 years God had enough and yelled back "Help me out and buy a damn ticket." David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

I alway said that if I won the lottery I would have a boogie and let everyone jump for free. I'd call it the "Freefall free for all". David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

DZ competition getting nasty/inaccurate web sites
dsbbreck replied to peek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
They do have an Otter in the Summer. They had Arizonas all last summer and they will again if needed. Even if the Otter was operational now I doubt they'd fly it, just not enough jumpers to keep it flying. And you picked on Mile Hi because you don't like them because Jeff pissed you off. Well Jeff's DEAD so get over it. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question." -
DZ competition getting nasty/inaccurate web sites
dsbbreck replied to peek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I alway love how Colorado jumpers love to pick on Mile Hi. Especially those who don't jump there. Hell, some who don't jump at all and claim it's because all dropzones are the same. Well here is proof. From the website of Mile hi's only competition right now. "We are one of the safest and most professional skydive operations in Colorado!" "We are also the most scenic dropzone in Colorado! " "If that's not enough, we are also a United States Parachute Association Group Member Dropzone and have pledged to uphold the Basic Safety Requirements of that organization." Seems to me that the DZO lost his rating for not following the BSR's "We operate a 15 Place Cessna Caravan and two 5 place Turbocharged Cessna 206's making it the largest fleet of jump aircraft in Colorado! " I think a 23 place otter, a 15 place king Air, and a 6 place 206 beats this. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question." -

Ok, now I'm extremely curious. Could this have been the same rocket belt they used in Panama City? David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question." -
I'm running to Manifest right now to schedule my self off for those weekends. This is going to be a great summer. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

Here is where I get mine Stacy. http://tapestockonline.com/ David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

My understanding is that they don't pay $30 a jump there though. More work, less money. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

Where exactly does anyone....and I mean anyone... make 150 work jumps a month for 5 months. I'm there. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

Yeah, I'm aware of that. In order to mess with him, I had to change all my ads so that the new photo didn't come up on mine. I even had to cancel one ad that already had bids on it. It was just more work than what was needed to change both pictures. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

Ok Robert, I took your advice. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

I have an ad on e-bay selling altimeters. He decided to do the same thing. He copied and pasted my entire ad to use in his ad and then just took out the stuff he didn't want in it. My ad is HTML with links to the photos on my web server. He didn't copy the photos, just copied the links. So I put a new photo up on my server with the same name so that the new photo came up in his ad. I didn't do anything to his ad, I just changed MY photo. Here is my ad on e-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7113177784&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."

It's me......... I have since pulled the photo. But you have all seen it. I got annoyed because he stole the whole ad. If he had just borrowed a picture I wouldn't have minded. Hell, I stole the photo from someone else. But he copy and pasted my whole ad. I just figured he needed to accept the consiquences of copying a link to my photos. Does anyone feel I went to far? A lot of people at my dropzone have something similar to Johnny1488. We sewed a loop onto the slider to attach a rubberband to and then have a monkeyfist ball attached to webbing around the reserve flap. Roll up the slider and put the rubber band around the ball. It works great. David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question."
