  1. Looking for a manufacturer of durable, high quality, suits designed for tandem students. Anybody got any suggestions. Or if you are a manufacturer, email a quote.

  2. Just throwing this out there, is there any value for a 1997 Astra AAD to anyone? Got one that came in with an old rig.

  3. I want to thank everyone who made constructive comments and suggestions to my inquiry. You have given me a lot more to think about. I intend to do some more tandems with her, and the tunnel is real close to us. If she feels skydiving is something she really wants to pursue then we will work more on modifing a rig that will work for her, or maybe she'll be ready to purchase one made especially to work for her.

If anyone has anything more constructive to add, please just PM me.

If the moderators see this, please put this thread to bed and block it before it gets out of control.

    Thanks,
    David

  4. I'm an instructor who has a customer that wants to learn to skydive. She's done a tandem and wants to do AFF. The challenges are that she is a Little Person.

The biggest challenge would be finding equipment that would work for her to do AFF in. Her short arms I believe would be the biggest hurdle. Being able to reach the toggles and being able to effectively steer and flare the canopy.

If anyone has run across a similar situation, or has any constructive input on how we can help this young lady fullfill a dream, please post or better yet, PM or email me directly.

    Thanks,
    David

  5. Anyone have an Argus Manual in English? I tried to download it from the website, but couldn't. File was bad or something. I tried to contact them and got no response. If someone has the PDF file and could email it to me, let me know.

    Thanks,
    David

Good job! Did you all get to keep the custom canopies and jumsuits?

Is it standard practice that any TIs / Demo jumpers keep any custom made canopies, jumpsuits, containers, etc... I'm sure it happens sometimes, but what's the norm? Always been curious about that.

We're jumping into 9 of the 10 home games. We got all new gear and are the Bronco's Skydivng team.

Shannon did say he was going to autograph the Jersey he was wearing and give it to me.

  7. I'm curious as to what he can accomplish with just that information as well. I decided to play along, and he's all the way as to saying payment is on it's way. I know it's a scam based on how many people he has contacted with the same spiel, but I've yet to see where he's going to profit from this.

Here are the emails back and forth.

    Hello,
How are you today? just want to let you know that the payment has been made
out to you today on your name and address which you provided me and you will receive
it by Weekend or Next week so please get back to me as soon as you get it....So i
can email you my DHL label which carries the the DHL account for the shipping and i
will also call DHL to come for the pick up of the item in your location as soon as
    the payment cleared.

So i would like you to remove the advert from the website & consider it SOLD.
    Expecting your payment soonest.

    Thank's

Ok, I can sell you the Container, Reserve and the
    Samurai 135 for $2300.00.

If you want to send a Money Order, it needs to be drawn on a US bank. I
will need to hold the shipping until it clears our account. Make the
Money Order out to Mile Hi Skydiving. You can send it to:

    Mile Hi Skydiving
    Attn: David Billings
    229 Airport Rd, Hanger 34G
    Longmont, CO 80503

I prefer if you use paypal to make the payment though. It's instant and I
can ship it out immediately. You can go to www.paypal.com to set up an
account and make the payment. My payment address is
    [email protected].

I can be reached at this email adress or by phone at 303-702-9911 during
    the day.

Let me know what you would like to do.

  8. As the gear sales manager at my dropzone, I tell all my customers that if they are going to buy anything new it should be the container. A container that is made for you is incredible. If sized right, you can downsize a couple times or more and it will last you a long time.

I almost never advise anyone to buy their 1st canopy new. It loses so much value once it's been jumped. You wouldn't buy a brand new car that you only plan on using for 6 months, why do that with a canopy. Buy used until you know you've reached the size you're going to jump for a while.

Buying a new Reserve and AAD vs buying a used one really comes down to your budget.

I'm not sure how to take that. lol.

Your right though, you're only as good as your last swoop and based on my performance at the Florida meet, I'm not that good. Hopefully I'll do better on my home turf.

    See you all in June.

  10. Definately all of the above for me.

    It started as a hobbie.

It then became my career as a Skydiving instructor.

Then I started competing, so it became a sport.

    Now it's my life.

  11. Thank you for all your input. It's great, keep it up.

    Something to think about.

As strange as it sounds, the public sees value in something they have to pay for, and no value in something that is offered for free.

I totally expected most skydivers to say NO to this question because they are so use to seeing it for free.

If the large competitions started charging and you couldn't watch without paying for it, would you pay?

I think you're probaby asking the wrong crowd... It's like asking a football player how much they'd be willing to pay to go to a game on they're day off...

Now if you were to ask a bunch of Wuffos you might get a different answer... B|

You're right. I am aware of that. I was asking people just like you. People who skydive but may not swoop in competition. Example: People who play football for fun do pay to go see a pro game.
