  1. Perris Fury is looking for a videoperson to join our 4-way team for the 2009 season. Perris Fury has been a successful, professional 4-way team for over four years. We anticipate winning US Nationals next year and are looking for a video guy or gal to represent the United States with us. The person we are looking for is as dedicated to camera as we are to our 4-way. As with the rest of the teammates, we need someone who is fun, excited, and positive. Experience is wonderful, but enthusiasm and attitude are more important. We are willing to train anyone who has the drive for excellence. Hired guns are not a good fit. Perris Fury believes the video person is a total teammate and wants someone who is willing to share in our successes and daily challenges. We understand the higher costs and unique nature of this position and do our best to accommodate and integrate our camera person. As our success grows, Fury receives many benefits including free and discounted equipment and loads of free skydives. As our camera person, you will have prime opportunities to film many of Perris’ great events like the Fury8 teams and big ways. Our camera person is welcome to participate in as much of our growing business as they desire. You can also expect to be our first choice when it comes to filming the teams we coach and organize. Perris Fury schedules approximately 100 training jumps a month, almost entirely midweek, making about jumps through the entire season. Our schedule is available for the 2009 season. For further information or to indicate your interest, talk with any member of Fury, or email [email protected]. You can also read more about our team history on skyleuage.com: http://skyleague.com/pages/news/showArticles.php?story=1282
  2. Perris Fury is developing a system that provides ‘remote coaching’ to 4-way teams that are not local to Perris. Before we can offer the program officially we would like to test it out a few times to make sure the bugs are worked out and it is a worthwhile experience. If you have a 4-way (or 8-way!) team that has been jumping somewhat recently, video of those jumps, computer with audio (and possibly video), a reasonable internet connection, and a few extra hours give us a shout at [email protected] Thanks, Christy
  3. Each member of Perris Fury will be organizing an 8-way team in 2007 intending to compete at Nationals this fall. Expanding on last year's success, we anticipate having 4 different teams with thier own set of unique goals and purposes ranging from learning, fun, and competition. For more information, check out the information booklet at: http://www.skydiveperris.com/light/experts/fury8way.pdf You can also check out Perris Moxie's video from Nationals on www.skydiveperris.com. The other teams footage should be appearing soon. For more information about the project, contact Christy at [email protected]

  5. The members of Perris Fury are organizing 8-way teams for 2006. Each member has a unique team with different goals and skill levels. All teams will focus on learning, improvement, and fun. Some of the teams will be set up as a series of camps, so you don’t need to be local to California to participate. Others will be weekend teams that fit a busy schedule. Below are the basic requirements. If you think you might be interested, contact any member of Perris Fury or Christy Frikken at [email protected]. They can provide more details about team selection. General Potential Member Profile Required: • Positive attitude • Responds well to coaching • Physically capable of making 8-10 jumps a day • Knowledge of basic skills Not Necessary: • Super duper fast 20 point 4-way average • Previous 8-way experience • Two rigs and a new jumpsuit Potential Specific Teams Women’s 8-way Team Christy Frikken is organizing an all female 8-way team for 2006. This team will be meeting for (4) four-day camps in Perris throughout the season as well as US Nationals. The “ABC” Team Uli Stuewe is planning an intermediate team. This is a great option for first time eight way flyers or those newer to competition. This team will be meeting for (4) four-day camps in Perris and US Nationals. Gold Team Josh Hall is creating a team whose focus is competition. A slightly stronger flying background is expected for this team, as they will be an open class group. This team will be meeting for (6) four-day camps in Perris and US Nationals. Weekend Fun Team Chris Farina will be putting together a team for the weekend jumper looking for a cool time and great learning experience. This team will meet about one weekend a month here at Perris.
  6. Tunnel League starts up this Saturday (11/2) and keeps going for six weeks. If you would like to participate, be sure to contact me ([email protected]) and let me know. Otherwise the fun starts at 7:00pm, come and watch the action. More information at www.tunnelleague.com Christy
  7. The sport of 4-Way FS is booming. Intermediate teams are averaging in the teens and the top 6 Open class teams are posting over 20. Teams at all levels have excelled beyond what was imaginable only a few years ago. If you have a passion for 4-way and believe that with the right team and training opportunity you are capable of being a World Champion than this post is for you. The PERRIS FURY 4-WAY team is planning for 2006. FURY started training in February, 2005. The team made up of Christy Frikken, Josh Hall, Uli Stuwe and Karen Lewis on video were jumping primarily with World Champion Mark Kirkby. Dan BC was the alternate during the year and planned to compete at the Nationals with them. In 2004 the members of Perris Fury had been on different Perris teams that averaged from 11 to 15. With Perris Valley's support and access to one of the finest training centers in the world Fury excelled at an unheard of pace. At the 2005 SSL Meets our average went from 16 in March to 18 in April to 19 in June. In 2006 we want to take it to the next level. Christy, Josh, Uli and Lew are returning with Dan BC as coach. We are looking for a highly motivated 4-way maniac to join us. Previous competition experience is preferred but not required. Most importantly we want a teammate that is committed to the team, loves it as much as we do and will put 110% into every part of the training. If you can't live without 4-way and are ready to commit to a team that is going to be training and working full time at Perris Valley than we should talk more, and NOW. We are ready to get started. Contact Dan BC by October 1, at: [email protected].

  13. My teammate, BikerBabe (also known as Andi), broke her femur Sunday in a low turn. She is currently in the hospital near Perris awaiting surgery. The fracture is midway and not compound. She will probably be getting pins. If everyone posts thier messages here, I'll attempt to get her a printout at the hospital.
  14. Here is an interesting link with some skydiving specific sport psychology information. http://www.peaksports.com/allsports/sports_mental_category.php?article_sport=Skydiving I've worked with Dr. Cohn a little, and I have been satisfied with his services. If anyone or any teams out there are interested in this type of thing, email me ([email protected]) and I talk with you about my experiences with him.
