  1. I just got custom made Infinity H/C and transferred my PDR 281 and 230 Spectre from my RTS. Container is I76 with I8 Free bag. I lost 20 lbs for a last month and will be loosing another 20 withing month or so. If i'll lose another 20 I will need to downsize to Specre/Storm 190/210 just to stay at that WL. I'm a high puller, but in a case of 2 out what will happen if I have 280 reserve with 190/210 main out? Will they play well with each other?
  2. Monkey, just sell your sewing machines and extra gear and use that cash to put a down payment for a nice house...or new RV...
  3. Hey guys, seems like Icarus got the name for their new low bulk reserve that called "Nano". I was wondering if anyone can convince me buying "Nano" over "Optimum"?
  4. Dude, you can get a nice deal here @ classifields for a used velo, jvx, jfx, Katanas, why bother with student shit?
  5. I do jump 230 Spectre now and love it. My packing is sloppy, but it opens perfect every single time.
  6. Unfortunately Skipper and Magellan do not come in sizes of more than 190 - and there is no way to demo them in US anyway.
  7. Just curious what would you buy if you would be on the market for this class of canopy. I'm not on the market yet, I'm just curious what cool peeps @ DZ.com think? If I would be on the market now, I would buy one of the canopies listed based on my research :) In this list I only jumped Fusion once, never jumped any other canopies, but do have a lot of feedback on every canopy in this list including Magelan. I do understand that peoples will most likely vote for a canopy they currently jump, but lets say you chop it, lost it and have to buy another one, what would you get?
  8. Damn good question... Nope - I'm still learning to properly land it in no wind especially when its 90 degrees outside during a summer. But I hope i will be able to nail it withing 50-100 jumps.
  9. I'm jumping Spectre 230 that is deferentially a keeper for a couple of hundred jumps till I will downsize to 210 Storm/Spectre or 209 Safire2 (MEW 300 LBS). 210 Storm/Spectre Maximum exit weight listed is 273 Lbs, I'm about 280-285 Lbs out the door. How dangerous is to go beyond manufacturer maximum weight limit? I do understand that according to PD my exit weight with my 230 is recommended for an expert, but our DZ is pretty much at sea level.

    M2 AA

I was waiting for M2 to be available on US market, but rescently bought vigil2 DOM 2013 for $1250 due to simple math and common sense: I did compare Life cycle of 2: Vigil2 - 20 years M2 - battery life 15 years (didn't see anything on their website about unit life, so I assume its 15 years) price: $1250 + 2-3 replacement batteries ($120-$180) total cost to own for life cycle: M2 -~ $1000 for 15 years Vigil2 ~ $1430 for 20 years now let's see what would be the cost to own per year: M2: 1000:15=$66.(6) Vigil2: 1430:20=$75.1 Resale value in the middle of a life time may vary - it all depends if there any incidents happened recently with any particular unit... I'm not trying to prove anything, but that's calculations I did when i was ordering my VSE container and had to decided what AAD to buy, and as we all know there is no official rep available here in US yet, and that mysterious M2 Distributions without physical address, website or phone number... Resent Cypres SB turned me away from getting that great AAD, even we all know that Cypres is a great unit, but still... Just my 2 cents edit to fix grammar mistakes, but I'm sure there are still a lot left :)
  11. Hey, I'm on my way to 200, I'm 6'3 and 280 OTD and I was curious if I ever will be able to find a used WS to fit me properly. I do have a local coach who can get me up in the air (Monkey), but at the same time I don't wanna spend 1000+ on student WS that I'm gonna get bored with after 20 jumps, not Sure if Wicked go something for me but I doubt, any big boys flying WS that can help a fat brother out?
  12. I'm pretty sure he figured that out after 10 years :)
  13. Yeh let's fuck Assad and bring Radicals to power. Let them handle that by themselves.
  14. Divorce and move in to 150 sq ft trailer at your DZ - and you can spend 90% of your income skydiving, how cool is that?!
  15. When I had a similar choice, but it was Smart vs PR - I went PR, if I had money to buy an optimum - I would deferentially gotten one. And if someday you will decide to sell it for any reason - Optimum will have a way better resale value.
  16. Don't do it! Just sell it. Big boys rigs a very hard to come by. Either sell it for a good price or put it in your closet. If you decided to jump that after 10 years or never come back to the sport - you will be surprised that it still worth descent amount of money, it may be out of fashion, but still solid and safe rig to jump. peoples treat rental like shit. I do rent a cars a lot for my work and most of my cars are drive and looks like they been driven for 100K miles and most of them still have only 10-20K on the odometer....
  17. VSE just had a special (Free rush service), you missed it by like a week. You may try to give them or dealer a call, they just had all slots full, but may be they may squeeze you in.
  18. If the prices of mains will keep climbing up - we will see more and more DIY
  19. Are they allow to issue "A" since Mexico is not really US territory and USPA got noting to do with any DZ's located there? Edit: I assume it can be done if Instructors and coaches are USPA rated?
  20. We bought 3 - took them about 2-3 weeks, I had someone pick it up for me in Kiev and drop it off here, they charge $50 for shipping I believe.
  21. there are none. I bought directly from them, but they do have a dealer in UK - it's on their web site. here we go: United Kingdom all regions Maciej Rybitwa +4407894066473 e-mail [email protected] United Kingdom all regions Sergiy Rulikovskyy +447552843741 e-mail [email protected]
  22. are you implying that Jamie Oliver looks like Brian Germain? If so I dont see it. I didn't mentioned last name :)
  23. Their sizing chart listed maximum reserve size 249, so I assume their sizes is not based on PD canopies (Make sense since Felix jumped VSE rig with Precision canopies in it) , I've been told that PR-281 will fit, but i don't want to ended up with reserve that feels like brick, especially all these talks about tight packed reserve deployment issues. I'm also looking at Wings W30 now, also Icon pro may be a good alternative if i add few options on Wings or Infinity. Any big boys jumping Infinity with PR-281? P.S. Its actually very interesting to see that when you add options you need - some "expensive" rigs coming out cheaper than "budget" priced ones. I was never looking at let's say Talon FX, but after reading that "It is being re-certified to the latest TSO C23d standards, and will be rated to 150 kts and 325 lbs." and it's going for $2400 fully loaded makes me think that I need to spend more time researching.
  24. Walked in the store today and couldn't believe my eyes http://imgur.com/woLkHZ7
