  1. He slipped in with someone else that was in front of him. Pretty easy to do. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

  6. You a programmer by chance? :) You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  7. My knives are means to kill things. All those things you mentioned have one thing in common. They were not designed to end the life of something. Wait what? Knives aren't meant to kill things? Holy cow. Military historians everywhere have had it wrong for thousands of years. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  8. and WTF does the judge mean with the insufficient evidence crap??? http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-dmv-bible-acquitted-20130813,0,4123072.story I guess to show that the audience was captive? I have no idea. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  9. Havent really paid any attention to it over the years, but when they gave a NPP award to a guy that did nothing (and they even said he did nothing), it lost all its meaning. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  10. When you continually make failed predictions, you are no longer practicing science. That's just a fact. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  11. Absolutely not true. A gun is the great equalizer. A gun is what lets a 90 lb grandma defend herself against 3 200lb intruders and keep from being raped / killed. A gun is what lets an unskilled person stay alive and drive off an assailant wielding a knife or a hammer. Taking away guns is what will drive "survival of the fittest" even more. Taking away guns is what lets the group with the most numbers, the person who's the strongest, etc. do whatever they want because the victim can't stop it. Whistles, "safe zones" and peeing on yourself won't do a damn thing, despite what some people promise. When you get down to it, two people with guns are at their most civilized (or should be) as neither has the brute force advantage over the other. Any differences will need to be worked out peacefully, otherwise you risk a good chance of getting killed (at least, as good as killing the other guy). 12. He deserves it a lot more than Obama. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  13. I suspect it is because people who live in highly populated areas are more likely to avoid getting involved the the affairs of others, as compared to people who live in more lightly populated areas. As an extreme example, this most likely would not have gone down the same way in a place like TX: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Kitty_Genovese I agree that has a lot to do with it. The lack of physical personal space in NYC is theorized by many to be a large contributing factor to people being closed off / rude. 14. http://www.upworthy.com/a-hidden-camera-show-goes-to-texas-it-did-not-expect-to-find-this Worth the watch. Interesting to say the least that Texans ended up standing for others more than NYers. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  15. You just make that up? You have any ballistics data to back that up? Any statistical analysis of fatalities due to firearm or caliber types? Didn't think so. Oh come on, seriously? Do you think that guy who shot people in a cinema would have hit 71 people and killed 12 had he been armed with a glock instead of an AR-15? Really? Don't think so. In close quarters? Absolutely. Even without guns, you could fashion a few pipe bombs out of all sorts of things and kill more than 12 people if you spent 5 mins planning it. 16. Yes, because I'm sure the doctors there routine would open a patient up to do heart surgery, decide that all they needed to do was pray, and then leave the room without even so much as bothering to close them back up. Oh, I don't know. I was admitted to a Catholic hospital when I was 13, some 14 hours after my appendix burst. The good Catholics tried to give me Extreme Unction/Last Rites (I sent them packing). A Jewboy Doctor went to work and kept me alive. I'll take a secular surgeon any time. BSBD, Winsor So is that story suppose to suggest then that Christian (or maybe just Catholic) doctors wouldn't operate on you? Is that what you're saying? No. Get a clue. Well feel free to clue me in on exactly what your point is. Because right now it seems like a pointless and baseless jab. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

  20. True, and I wondered that as well. But how many more people are going to pad the book that aren't already? Faking a dozen or two student jumps probably isn't that hard over the course of a year. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  21. There's an app for that (seriously) You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  22. +1. I have my alti mounted on my chest now for wingsuiting and then keep a VisoII on the wrist when belly flying. But up until maybe 30 jumps ago, it was all alti. Love that thing. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  23. That's *a* reason, but not's not the *only* reason. You'll likely downsize a few times after AFF. You really don't want to be floating around on a big student canopy for hundreds of jumps. You won't enjoy it and it will be hard(er) to sell. Not too mention, your rig will be built around something that size instead of smaller. There's a world of canopy options and ways to fly it that are in between student flight and swooping. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  24. Why? Well, aside from the freedom of having one (which in reality, it's not that scary of a weapon. There are plenty of hunting rifles that are far more powerful), and assuming you don't want to go down the route of you have the right to protect yourself from the government, the LA city riots are a prime example. The cops turned tail and RAN while people were robbed, brutalized and killed as mobs swept through the area. Koreans protected their shops with these scary "assault" rifles, and guess what? They managed to defend themselves quite well. Now then, if we move to a more generic situation, any house should have one when considering general self defense. The AR-15 is easy to aim and has a low kick, which means you don't need to practice a lot to be decent with it. Moreover, if you have multiple intruders coming at you (armed especially), a 6 shot revolver isn't going to cut it if they want you dead. You'll *need* something with a much larger capacity, especially since the vast majority of bullets miss when it comes to shooting. A lady recently in GA shot an intruder 5 times (6th shot missed) and drove him off as she was hiding in her closet with her kid. The guy lived btw. Had there been just one other baddy, she'd have been in trouble as she would have had to reload. With an AR-15, not so much. Tap tap tap. Move to /prep for the next target. 25. Stopping a pull on the PC and trying to get it back in when you've clearly tugged on it is a good way to get a horseshoe as it could come loose and wrap your arm. And how do you know it only came out 2"? I seriously doubt you measured it, or could, for that matter. Heck, you can't even see it :) If you're going to pull, pull.
