  1. I'm hooking up a Nitro (not nitron) to another set of risers for a friend. I did a line continuity on this canopy and am now scratching my head because I'm not used to non cascading lines..

The front stabilizers (A5 & B5 lines) attached to the front riser and the rear stabilizer (C5 lines) attached to the rear riser. Is this correct?

Though it makes sense to me that it is because of the attached drawing - I'd like to get a confirm before finishing this job.

Also, with non cascading lines being attached to the links..
    Would the order be:
    D3,D2,D1,C5,C4,C3,C2,C1 REAR RISER LINK
    B5,B4,B3,B2,B1,A5,A4,A3,A2,A1 FRONT RISER LINK

  2. Prior to ordering one..

I'm asking if anyone owns one with a good amount of jumps on theirs and how it is holding up.

Just trying to assess if they are durably built and if I can expect a long life out of one with good care.

  3. I own a Wings. I love it. As a jumper I couldn't be happier.

As a Rigger it took awhile to get the reserve to pack and close correctly and still be ascetically pleasing (no gaps between the pilot chute cap and the reserve container). But once I had it honed in - it's been perfect.

Vectors are excellent as well! But I liked saving the $ for my Wings.

    Happy Hunting.

  4. There is one left. These are Bobster Cruiser 2 goggles with 3 interchangeable lens... I just bought 1 of the 3 these folks are selling. On the normal skydive sites they are 30bucks... this is $16.00 with free shipping.

Just a heads up for anyone immediately in the market.

  5. I've got a Sony CX110 and the video card is inserted thru the bottom of the camera. Which stinks when Hotloading. Which Sony's (similar to the CX110 - using for tandem vids) has a video card on the side? Might be time to upgrade to avoid this in the future.

  6. The never ending discussion. :)

Personally. I ordered my rig without a RSL or Skyhook. NOT BECAUSE IM CHEAP but because 99% of the time I pull 3K or higher giving me enough time to cut away and return to an arch before deploying my reserve. I dont want to be in a spinning mal cut away, be butt backwards, and my reserve tangling around me etc. knock on wood - 0 reserve rides thus far.

  7. Well... I was cleaning out the attic of a property I had to take back today and Hot Damn... Found a Necchi BU sewing machine that's in great condition! Does anyone have a pdf manual for one of these or know where I can get one?

  8. ^^^ what he said. Also, these forums are a great source of info. But answers in person are far more rewarding. Talk to the folks at your home DZ. New skydivers should ask hundred's of questions before make a decision on gear, particular jumps, etc.

  9. When Pro Packing - before you start to roll the tail around your flaked canopy make sure the nose (which was between your legs) isn't pushed INTO your flaking. You don't want to push the nose into the middle of your lines.

Also, you can take the nose (which was between your legs) and flake it too. It's a nine cell so - four cells to the left and four to the right which would leave the middle cell more exposed. That should help increase your opening speed a lil... It's the same method for reserves.

  10. Rick's track recorded is pretty impressive. I ordered my Rig thru him via a 50% off coupon myself. The guy had just got back from vacation, was swamped with work, and still managed to curtail to my needs. Granted, I knew exactly what I wanted, am a Rigger, and only had minor alterations here n' there.

I get the feeling that your friend PurpleHeart is the one to blame. New to the sport, nervous about money, etc. ='s a customer that should really just use his dealer instead of take matters into his own hands...

Rick - if you read this Cheers!

  11. No insult taken! I know my level of experience is low, so input is aways welcomed. Every job thus far has been done perfectly... I'm just trying to get tweaking ideas so I'm not having to constantly reflake and reflake the canopy to insure it's in the bag optimally.
