  1. Just got one in the mail for a CX110. I see how it's designed to be set up but have a question regarding how snug everything needs to be.

The Filter Bushing rests in the circular cut out of the box pretty well but it still has a little (very little) movement.. is it supposed to be a Tight fit with zero movement? Just seems that lil bit could cause vibration while shooting.

Same deal with the Filter Bushing and the Step Ring.. Supposed to be a tight fit or is it okay to have that minimal wiggle?

  2. Doesn't the G3 tighten with a draw sting in the back? If so... a cutaway system isn't really possible. just mount the camera with a nylon screw that will snap off should a snag with a line or riser occur.

  3. I have a hard time seeing any benefit from the pin and cutter being in contact with one another. I imagine a scenario where I have a main mal with a skyhook and wonder how the routing would be hindered because it would add additional packing mishaps with routing of the RSL/Skyhook Lanyard. I imagine a scenario where I have no RSL/Skyhook and the pull force need to slid the pin over the cutter and out of the loop would be increased or halted because of friction etc. Simply put you'd be adding more potential mishap opportunities with the manual/rsl/skyhook pin extraction process. Just my observations - it you can design something beyond my vision that'd appease those worries than rock n' roll!

  4. Balls. I've been thinking of semi-retiring my Pilot and getting a Spectre (although larger than a 150) because my spine is roughly as old as you are. I'm reading this thread with considerable interest.

If you want soft openings... get a firebolt. softest openings I've ever experienced - and one of the main reasons I purchased it.

  • Have you taken a canopy course? Do you know what the sweet spot is/can you constantly find it? Have you Demo'd one yet at that size. If the answer is Yes to those questions... and you prefer the downsized ride & LANDING then the decision should be clear. :D

  • Mirage makes 2 types of dbags i thought. one with a solid seam where the locking bands connect and another with a split seam that requires the middle locking band to go thru two grommets to close the opening making a larger opening to stuff the chute into...

  • Haven't run into any of these AAD's... how long has it been around? good reputation? comparable price to a Vigil or Cypress?

The reviews on DZ.com look alright but there are only 7.
