toggles and risers are different you need to reach the toggles without unzipping for base, or at least to make it safer. If you can reach them in all of the manufactures suits they don't fit you right. BASE 1519

As mentioned, that would be incorrect. This counjtry needs to get on board with the metric system, a far better system. I knew we never went to the moon! You should try it and see what you think of it. Jerry Baumchen BASE 1519

yep 270's on big canopies are still fun BASE 1519

then by your calculations the rig would be worth $3,170 assuming they paid $5,000 in 1999 BASE 1519

Want to learn to jump solo
wasatchrider replied to Acole6357's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I guess the ti's at this dropzone are not trying or at least letting people know how to continue in the sport. People wonder why most never continue after their tandem. BASE 1519 -
Shoes and equipment for softer landing
wasatchrider replied to nikaru's topic in Safety and Training
I've never landed a skydive on rocks or a rocky trail or a hill, slope or anything of that nature. I've also seen plenty of skydivers that would have a hard time running on anything let alone a rocky trail... but hey I think a lot of people out there that shouldn't be skydiving that do. BASE 1519 -
or pitch your wing suit down steep and in a turn spiral down just like burying a toggle like other dude said. BASE 1519
-
maybe soft housing and line twists or did not peel then pull would be the two things that come to my mind BASE 1519

Ok I take it back I was just joking. BASE 1519

How to finance your jumps ?
wasatchrider replied to NeedCoffee's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
sounds like you have to stop skydiving if you don't have the money. people make money at jobs get a job that pays you money then use that money for skydiving if your a student that does not work and youre out of money and your parents wont fund you then you don't have a choice BASE 1519 -
60-75 around these parts or a case of beer at your riggers and pack it yourself BASE 1519
-
correct me if im wrong but I think you have to have 500 jumps to fly with a tandem BASE 1519
-
you are suppose to fly a pattern downwind, base and final BASE 1519

why not try a 210 or hell try a 190 and see how it goes BASE 1519

fits right into the cut out and is not noticeable. my audible does not go off under canopy so I could not comment to that BASE 1519

No theory, just facts of basic physics. Dacron does not slow the opening down so much as smooth it out because it has more give to it. Dacron is thicker, so it can't wind up as tight as tiny lines. This in turn allows the canopy to balance out even if it is twisted so that it spins slower, if at all. These attributes reduce the factors that lead to line twists that turn into spinners. More important than line type though is the wing loading; the higher it is, the more likely any canopy will wind up into a non-recoverable spin. Again, history and basic physics: The sport did not have spinner problems until people started loading up their canopies and going to microlines of various types. nope Dacron slows the opening its just physics more surface area creating more friction BASE 1519

"In order to learn how to land a canopy, you have to jump out of a plane and land a canopy. Stop wasting time and money on tandems and do your AFF or find an IAD program." that's not true he could base jump BASE 1519
-
Expect around 500 to 700ish if your not landing on dirt all the time. BASE 1519
