  1. If you want to avoid the fogging issue all together, you can always wear small goggles or snug fitting sunglasses with a full face, without a visor. You might eat a few bugs now and again, but oh well. :) -NooB-
  2. I'll be so glad when all our troops get to leave that hell hole. I didn't know Jordan, but he looks like an awesome guy. I work as a civilian for the Army, so I have seen several friends injured and killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. SSG Emrick - SALUTE!!! Rest in peace brother. -NooB-
  3. Exactly. that was what I was poking fun at. Laws may assist in increasing the violence, but the fact is, people just not using the stuff in the first place would cease the need to have those laws. From reading of many of the posts here, some would rather exercise their right to do what they want with their body "as long as it doesn't affect others". They are partaking in a past-time that causes lives and discontent to supply it for them. But they would rather exercise their rights or self-indulge rather than do the responsible thing. Total douchbaggery in my mind. But that's unrealitic, isn't it? People throughout history have ingested mood altering/mind altering substances. Beer, wine, hemp, tobacco, coca, etc. It seems to me that some humans inherently will always seek and use these substances. I don't know about you, but I know plenty of people who drink and/or use substances resposibly. Then again, I have arrested plenty that didn't. It seems to me that focusing more on treatment and education would be more productive that arresting people and throwing them in jail. Do you know how our current marijuana and narcotics laws came about? And why is it that alcohol and tobacco are legal, when they are among the most addictive drugs to consume? Seems a bit odd doesn't it? It really has more to do with revenues than morals. For example, marijuana was prefectly legal until prohibition was overturned, and the Feds needed something else to demonize to keep their jobs, so they attacked marijuana. It wasn't that there was a public outcry to make it illegal. In fact, most people at the time had never heard of it. But Mexican immigrants used it, and so it was an easy target in the 1930s. Anyway, "people just not using the stuff in the first place" will never happen, and it's not a moral decision, it's just human nature. -NooB-
  4. Maybe this one. I look pretty rough on this one... -NooB-
  5. My wife Candy says my booty. I would say my mane of hair. :D -NooB-
  6. Ok, some of you may have seen this before, but I rolled laughing when I saw it. Just a little skydiving humor! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHtPDjGE8RU -NooB-
  7. I am still a student, but to be honest, I got into skydiving because I eventually want to try wingsuit flying when I have enough experience. I was just wondering how most of you guys and gals got into this discipline, and what were your first experiences like? Thanks in advance! -Dwayne Sessom -NooB-
  8. Jim, I took a look at your website (Liberty Parachute Team). You have lots of info, but few photos and no video that I could see. Just wondering if you had it that way for a reason, or if you just haven't gotten around to it? I'd love to see some of your performances!
  9. Thank you for the replies and advice. Although I am 40, most people say I don't look or act 40. And I don't feel 40. LOL Motocross was fun, but got boring when I started driving cars. I was a Deputy Sheriff for 4 years and that wasn't exactly what I thought it would be although I learned a lot of self discapline on that job. Then I got into 1/8 and 1/4 mile drag racing. It was fun, but far too expensive for me to continue. I still drive a 5.7L HEMI powered Dodge truck with a 150HP shot of nitrous - just for fun. I really don't spray it that often. Anyway, my dad worked for the FAA back in the late 1970s and I was around airports a lot. I now work as a US Army civilian and have friends who are pilots. So, flying isn't new to me. But I've never jumped out of a flying plane and always wanted to try it. My uncle was Airborne in the Army and loved it. I have put it off for far too long. The Jeb Corliss and Jokke Sommer videos reminded me of what I have been missing. So, thanks to them for the motivation. :) I plan on jumping as soon as possible. I can't wait!!! -NooB-

    4G Networks

4G standards are supposed to support 100Mbps (Megabits per second). None of the networks come close to this. In the real word, "4G" is as someone else quote really more like 3.5G. On a good 3G network, with a solid 5 bar reception, you can get about 3Mbps down and 1Mbps upload. On the standards that Tmobile and Verizon are calling "4G", the theoretical download speed is 10Mbps. I have yet to be able to test real throughput speeds of these standards, but I suspect that they will be in the range of 6Mbps to 8Mbps. I hope that helps you somewhat. -NooB-
  11. Hello all, My name is Dwayne Sessom. I used to race motocross in my teens, and got into drag racing later in my 30's. So, I have always had some sort of "need for speed". So, I was browsing Youtube and found Jeb Corliss and Jokke Sommers videos, and thought "Now THAT is the ultimate for adrenalin junkies!" I am now 40, and realize that skydiving is probably a natural progression from racing. So, I have found a local DZ with really friendly and experienced folks running it. The equipment is a bit dated, but kept in good working condition and the guys running it aren't out to take jumpers money. I can get my student training and 30 jumps (For "A" license) for a grand total of $1,600USD and this DZ is the only USPA sanctioned center in my state. I have been browsing these forums and am really impressed by the wealth of knowledge and even gear for sale! (I can't afford new canopies and containers..) Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. I hope to be around a good long while! Best regards, Dwayne -NooB-
