  1. Even if the weapon functions perfectly might still find a better way. A 44 mag is far from a suitable hunting round. On Texas white tail its fine if your close but on critters up there its not a very good option. You really need a rifle, nothing smaller than a 308,,,this is just my opinion. 2. Actually read the UN small arm treaty, this was the blue print. But its not going to happen I agree. Its just odd they actually looked at it that long ago, Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
  3. I have no desire to ever land off but we all know its likely going to happen at some point. Its sad that some ppl tend to get riled over perhaps an unavoidable incident. We as jumpers can do a lot to diffuse the situation by attitude in many cases. But theres always a guy some here that wont be understanding. 4. I guess the old saying if we do not learn from the past we are doomed to repeat it, or in this case actually carry it out. http://dosfan.lib.uic.edu/ERC/arms/freedom_war.html Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
  5. According to FBI statistics firearms are the weapons of choice for killers. Followed by knives/sharp instruments and beatings take 3rd place. 68% used firearms, so do we ban pocket knives and blunt instruments as well? Contrary to most peoples belief there are more than enough laws in place to deal with shootings and crimes, we don't need a new one just for firearms. I may be the biggest nut job out there but if i haven't been diagnosed i can still get an AK if i want and could if i was diagnosed even if you ban them. Besides everyone knows its the movie studios fault for making a violent movie that effected my sanity. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 6. They are not that easily spooked to the point of injuring themselves. I have three of them, granted they are prey animals and will bolt easy. In 40 years of riding I've yet to see one injure it self from being spooked. Now I do love my ponies but they aren't people. The only way I would get upset over an off landing would be the jumpers attitude, not from a fact he spooked an animal. And they are far from dumb, they get to eat free and get free room and medical and for most part do no work to compensate us. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 7. Out of curiosity how much of a role does the jumpers weight play into a hard opening? Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

    holy moly

Damn don't you hate that? Four hours of being told how not to offend a coworker. Why did I have to take the stupid class, every last one is hideous, trust me I'm not saying anything that could possibly be mistaken as a come on. 9. As a rule I don't get into political debates much but so many people like to point out differences between Obama and Romney. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IWDJEc92d38 Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Injury

If I don't start jumping soon I'm going to get hurt again. Broke a foot while breaking a horse (shes a sweety now) went and made one jump. Had a motorcycle wreck and decided right fast when I tightened up the rig that was a bad idea. We wont discuss where that injury is. So for last three weeks I haven't done anything, no horses no bikes , hell I haven't even been on a ladder, ladders are scary as hell. Iv decided jumping is a lot safer of a sport for me. Maybe I get to try again next Saturday. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

    Dragonfly

I know theres a lot of pilots in here. Do any of you have one or have ever flown a dragonfly? Be starting my sport pilot soon and i like it. So opinions are welcome. http://www.greatplainsas.com/dragon.html Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
  14. OK I'm not a rigger but why couldn't the hackey be moved to the other side? Seems a simple enough thing for you and instructor to over come. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

  16. Not sure how far it is but Sky dive experience is in Vivian just north of Shreveport. Great people but only open on saturdays. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
  17. Naw being a tandem mill isn't a not a bad thing I guess. But would have been nice to have a place to jump that was 4 miles away. But I think they forgot Skydive Dallas is still there. Its a very odd setup. Majors field is where they take off from but they land at their place, or so thats what i understand. So they have to drive 6 or 7 miles to get to the airport to jump. That may be a lot more common than I think but I'm still new. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
  18. Saw a sign today in my home town. I thought to myself once I've got my A if I cant get to Vivian I could swing by on my Mondays off for a jump. I guess this is whats referred to as a tandem mill. http://www.skydivelodge.com/index.html Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 20. Sadly your correct, a great number of talented singers we grew up with would have no chance now. Might not be your kind of music but i saw Big Mama Thornton in person, my goodness she could sing. But she wasn't a cute long legged blond so now days they would never take a second look. If you don't know who she was she wrote and recorded Elvis Presley's hound dog and Janis Joplins ball and chain before they did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XUAg1_A7IE Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 21. Unfortunately, kill is a mistranslation of the original Hebrew, which does not say, you shall not kill. The Hebrew verb here is ratsach, and it only refers to illegal killing. The meaning of the principle, an eye for an eye, is that a person who has injured another person receives the same injury in compensation. The exact Latin to English translation of this phrase is actually The law of retaliation. At the root of this principle is that one of the purposes of the law is to provide equitable retribution for an offended party. The phrase, an eye for an eye, is a quotation from several passages of the Hebrew Bible in which a person who has injured the eye of another is instructed to pay compensation. It defined and restricted the extent of retribution in the laws of the Torah. The English word talion means a punishment identical to the offense, from the Latin talio. The principle of an eye for an eye is often referred to using the Latin phrase lex talionis, the law of talion. This is the doctrine of revenge, preached against by Jesus Christ in his sermon on the mount: For example, killing the assailant from Numbers 35:16-18 is not only allowed but required. That sort of required killing (capital punishment, as we call it now) is not ratsaching, and is not forbidden by the Ten Commandments. 22. Well if your a Christian the answer is simple, if your not then you can debate all you want. This is in regard to the death penalty for murder, biblically there is no other time when its allowed. The death penalty was first instituted by God Himself in Genesis 9:6: "Whosoever sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." Man didn't invent the death penalty, so man has no right to abandon it. Exodus 21:12 says, "He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. Deuteronomy 19:11-13 "But if any man hate his neighbor, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities: Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee." Now I know not everyone is a Christian but if you are then theres not much debate. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
