Hey everyone, im just wondering if there is anyone out there that is currently working or is pursuing a career in wind energy. I am attendng training and will begin to break into the market this summer. I have been very interested in this field and finally am making the move and going after it. i understand i can get used altimeters for 100 bones and then ihave to sell it later and get the one i really want.. i just figure if i am serious about this sport and plan on it for a lifetime i want to buy exact altimeter i want (altitrack) yeah its hella expensive but it will be worth it... i like the fact that it runs up to 18K feet also ;) Some people say "The sky is the limit" .... those people must not skydive..

I did not get much just the things for my student progression. The benny helmet is a great starter helmet instead of wearing the DZ's it only about 60$ i did not get "gear" yet but it will be from them for sure best prices i have found anywhere. so jealous of you guys that have clear grass runways and are only waiting on wind and rain to give you the chance... my runway is frozen :( i would also like to point out rigs and things paraservice... i got all my stuff there to begin.. Im feeling your pain man!! or excitment rather. i got my ground school in and waited all day to just high winds didnt let that happen. finally a calm weekend the following let me jump and do my AFF1.. it went well. im surprised to hear your signed off for packing only packing twice and only jumping once? i thought it was a bit more extensive to get signed off on that. its nice to have a full understanding of the equiptment before your first jumps but i think actual packing should wait till off student status. maybe some people can chime in on when their packing class took place.. wow again thanks a lot for all the info and criticism. i will be studying the handbook in my free time, and trying to keep my internet training to a minimum.. and thanks for being bored and taking the time to throw out some of those answers and info... and did i hear right that you have never used a throw out pilot chute? i thought that was the norm... Thanks a lot for the constuctive criticism... i am trying to learn this sport the PROPER way. I have heard one of the hardest things to do is be patient which i am finding to be very true :) I am a person that needs to hear things several times before it sticks so it helps me to have the basic theroy and operation in the back of my head as an instructor is showing me things hands on. also i was a little concerned with how strict all DZ's for a packing/ rig check procedure.... maybe a smaller DZ has a slightly different way to pack item X versus a bigger DZ that has had more experience or a new technology...Again thank you all for your 2cents and i dont mind a little flack Merry Christmas...
