  1. Me too! I didn't think anyone would be open until March/April time frame, but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and see what's going on I suppose!
  2. Welcome aboard! I'm from the area as well and plan to start training this Spring. I think it'll either be at Skydive KC in Butler or MRVS in Lexington. I'm sure we'll be meeting each other soon!
  3. That's good news to hear about MRVS. I did my first tandem there a few years ago and want to start with static line this Spring to get my A-license. I look forward to meeting some of you there!
  4. New guy here, better throw out what I'm wearing- Boxers!! Off to bed for another week working for the man.
  5. Personally, I have a fetish for women in lingerie. A pair of thigh highs and garter with a black thong, shelf bra, high heels, oh man . . . where are the tissues?
  6. *Update- Hello everyone and happy Saturday! Just wanted to give everyone an update on my adventure. I've been calling around and talking to the DZs in my area. Unfortunately everyone is closing down for the winter soon and it looks like I'll be waiting until next Spring to start training :( On the upside, I'll be able to spend a lot of time reading and learning from fellow DZ.com members! The prevalent training program in my area seems to be AFP, which I think I might actually prefer. I think the slower transition might help me become more comfortable and skilled at maneuvers/skill sets as I progress. Anyhow, best wishes to everyone in the upcoming holiday season! Ryan
  7. Is there a thread like this with female members or do I have to post first and wait for the replies. Yeah where's the equality!?
  8. Now that I read the post more clearly it does sound like I craved more of the NSFW thread doesn't it! *Disclaimer- Straight male here.
  9. Thank you everyone for your input! I must agree that I am jumping the gun here. I definitely need to go through training and make sure this is right for me as well as get more acquainted with different gear and their characteristics. I hated to miss an opportunity at a good beginner rig that I might possibly sell after a few hundred jumps but saving a few $ isn't more important than saving my life! Again, I think everyone and will do as suggested, take it slow. That adrenaline just gets pumping when I saw a rig so close to home and what seemed to be a great deal so I all I was thinking was let's go skydiving! But all in due time
  10. Thanks for the link! I read through everything there and craving more! It's a great introduction though and gave me a better general understanding of what is involved in getting into the sport. Will recommend to other newbs!
  11. WOW! I had no idea such a thread existed. Skydiving girls might be where it's at! LOL
  12. Good evening all. This is only my second post and I'm a new guy, so don't BOO me off stage yet! I've been interested in the sport of skydiving for quite awhile and currently researching the best method for training and options for equipment. While digging around I found a used rig that is claimed to have had only 50 jumps from original owner on it for what sounds like a good price. Here's the kicker. Container- Talon, DOM March 1989 Main- Precision Aerodynamics Super Raven III- DOM March 1989 Reserve- Raven II- Never deployed, DOM March 1989. Last repack on both chutes 1991. The size of the container would fit my build- 6'-0" & 175lbs, and the chutes are 249sf. But what about the age? Please advise! Ryan.
  13. Greetings all! Excited to be here and can't wait to meet & greet with all of the wonderful folks in the community :) I did my first tandem jump awhile back and just haven't had time or money to pursue the sport, but all of that has changed. I'm ready to jump in! Or out? LOL. A little background... I'm 23, living in central Missouri, 6'-0" tall, 175 lbs, dark hair, brown eyes, semi-athletic . . . wait this isn't eHarmony is it?! Oh and stoked about getting into skydiving Seriously though, I've grown up flying Cessna 210s with my dad so I've always been intrigued by this sport. Having flown small planes has given me basic knowledge of flight principals and weather, but only once have I experienced the biggest adrenaline rush of my life, skydiving! I hope to learn from all of the new and experienced guys/girls here so that I can become a dedicated and helpful member one day myself. Until next time Ryan.
