  1. Him and Tim Conway were quite the pair and made some of the best Spongebob episodes. I'm not ashamed to say that I will miss future Mermaidman and Barnicle Boy episodes. Also, as an honorary Chief Petty Officer, I'm wondering how the Mess will commemorate his life. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  2. Ok, you're just baiting me, aren't you? Nope. Nope. Let me take this. . . Nothing shut down a climax at the end of any movie like this one. I was just a child when I saw it and I was able to comprehend how strange/warped it was. Besides Ernest Borgstein's character gets it in this movie. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  3. True. That was the reality in the eighties and ninties. But since I haven't looked deeply into them recently, I didn't know if that was still their sucker model. I was playing it safe. They're still sketchy though. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  4. Amway does But it's a business designed to make money off its clueless "business owners", not its sale of actual products to customers. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  5. This seems a slim change, butt considering that Mars is only one planet, and there's probably a gazillion planets in the universe, it's only a matter of time before they come. Why, would intelligent life want to come to our planet? Unless, they're looking for a good laugh! Chuck Well, considering the type of people they seem to visit. . . Lots of fun in those people sleeping in metal houses with tires. I know that's right! Chuck I'm buying an Airstream International. . .I really want to meet Mr. Spock. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  7. How about this, YOU have never served your county in the service of PEACE. Actually this is the mission of the US Armed Services. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

    ACA upheld

sounds like he is as squirrely as his dad. My question is, does the mandate have to be rewritten to reflect "tax" language and if so does it have to go through approval again? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  9. Are you stating that the broker telling the bidder that "... you're about a nickel short" to inform the bidder that they were 0.05 percent below the winning bid or "... you're about a dime high" to inform the bidder that they were 0.1 percent above the winning bid was not the same as showing bids? no i am not really saying that because that is not what they are saying. Considering the testimony, conviction, and fines it appears that is exactly what they were saying ... they were convicted on the facts presented, not the article in Rolling Stone. his article is an inaccurate account of what happened. I get it because i actually undertand what they are saying. the author didnt. discussions while checking levels are different than discussions while getting a firm quote. if you dont understand then just let it go. Its an article in Rolling Stone. It's written for potheads by potheads. I wouldn't argue about articles in that rag, you might legitimize retardedness. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  10. I think I felt a "whoosh" passing through my hair, or I am completely missing something I haven't considered. What actual process would the gov't be able to spend to achieve this? And, yes I agree with the Euro crisis. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  11. Well, I think you just sneaked a peek at the deep shit into which our financial system and its overpaid architects have led us. Maybe they should stop meddling in it then? Let is "natural" cycle happen? Matt If you don't mind your retirement becoming instantly worthless, your employers wouldn't be able to pay you, and your bank accounts worthless, then not meddling would be a snap. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  12. Interesting thing. When I was younger, the Tomcat pilots were my heros (post PRK surgery now, I would never have been accepted into a Pilot or NFO program when I was younger). I served on the ground in Iraq as part of Task Force Troy, RCIED jamming, attached to a Route clearance platoon. . .Lets just say that the EA6B is my best friend in the world. And now my most favorite aircraft in inventory. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  14. I recently read a book on Naval Aviation and the qualification process from the beginning of flight school till thier night traps on the aircraft they were ultimately picked for. The book said something on the line that the more expensive aircrafts, Prowlers, Hawkeyes, were given to the most promising of the pilots that show the best ability to trap on their Goshhawk days. I believe it related to the fact that the Navy wants to trust their most expensive investments safe. This book was published during the early Ninties. Does this ring true? _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  15. I noticed that during the level flight and on its way to the trees, the flaps were retracting. Were they being stowed too early? Edit: Nevermind, the flaps weren't moving at all. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  17. The way I see to stop the cycle is decrease demand. America has a huge appetite for drugs. I would gladly pay more taxes it it would go to more training and rehab. Start with decriminalizing it, then work on the education. Don't legalize drugs for purposes of taxing it for revenue, tax alcohol and tobacco further. The way we fight the "war" is mostly Supply sided attacks. It only drives up prices and changes behaviors related to importing. It has to be a Demand side attack. Keep the Supply war up to keep the choke points and access in place, but increase Demand side education and therapy. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  18. It's so hard arguing for/against legalization with the considerable amount of facets involved with drugs. I'm forced to broad-stroke just to keep a conversation going. Truth is Arvoitus isn't all wrong in his assertions and in some aspect, he is right. I believe, with many I disagree with here, that we are shooting off with different facets of the issues. For example: I kind of agree morally with his thought on actual usage being in itself, a victimless crime that maybe shouldn't be persued with such heavy-handedness. But I argue with the thought that users, whether addicts or recreational, are enablers as they provide the demand that fuels the bad guys' profits. Two different view points which in themselves would cause disagreement regardless if there's some aspect of agreeness. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  19. I was more conservative at 20 and slowly becoming liberal as I age into my forties. Crap, I'm going to be a heartless idiot. And I though the whole "gateway drug" concept has long been known as disproven and not even considered as an argument. But I rarely read other anti-legalization pieces. A lot of them disappoint me. Maybe you were wise beyond your years and you've just grown into it. My point was simply that "crumpy old people" never go extinct. Flattery will get you everywhere. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  20. Why, would cities be a problem? No back yard? The permit would be for personal use. Get a large planter pot, put some dirt in the pot, plant the seeds in the dirt and water as necessary. Maybe a little Miracle Gro to speed-up the process. So, what's the problem. Unless, your consumption is greater than a couple plants. Chuck It'd be awfully hard to grow "on your own property" if you don't own property. Shoot, people have roof-top gardens in the big cities. Planter boxes with flowers, potted plants and so-on. All it takes is a little imagination. I knew a guy who raised pot in his house till the beetles got to it and ate all his plants! Chuck Oh I've grown tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, herbs, etc. in potted plants on my patio back when I rented apartments, that wasn't my point. My point is I was renting the apartments. The issue may come with landlords trying to put restrictions on renters. As a landlord, I can say that if it was legal to grow your own pot, the laws will protect the renter from landlords restriction. But the landlord can prevent smoking on the premise as we can do that right now with cigarettes. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  22. I go minimal or go big when it comes to products. A $10 casio will work for me. One day I would like to buy a Royal Oak Audemars Piguet, but not right now. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  23. Drugs have a concept? This isn't an idea. Drug use have a result, definitely more dangerous than your caffeine, but there are issues created and they affect others in various ways. I would have no problem if it was a "victimless" vice, but it's not. If you do not see this, or do not stay around to witness the effects then I can't help you understand my position. And I tell you that my position does not come from me using the stuff, enjoy myself, and not pay attention to my surrounds being ignorant of how the product gets to my hands in the first place. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  24. To a degree, i agree with you. But I personally believe that if what you put in your body causes a spill-over into other's lives and intrudes on their rights, then those substances/actions should be regulated. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
