  1. lol... I could see taking that two totally opposite ways DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930
  2. I wonder how many people have never seen their reserves (?) they just turn it in for repack. heck you should pop it before turning it in, just for the sake of going through the motions of a real pull (on the ground), not to mention you know that you will get it repacked and not pencil whipped (not that anyone would ever do that). Inspecting the thing on your own is a good idea too.. I'd not be happy to find improperly assembled stuff (like the lines/riser someone posted above) DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930
  3. I dont know any "official" way, but this should work: * put enough weight on your rig so it doesn't slide when pulling on the D-bag * stretch out your lines * attach a spring scale to the bridle attach point somewhere close to the bag * with lines stowed in your method of choice, pull bag in direction opposite of rig, monitoring the forces required until release * repeat as neccessary. 4. I have tube stoes for my main loops (x3) and small rubber bands for the rest. I only single wrap. doubles net only 2 jumps on the rubber bands due to breaking, and is very hard to get around my lines. DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930
  5. anyone know who stocks these? ETA: nevermind, Chutingstar has them I've hit the major dealers and they don't have them listed. this sounds like it would be the ideal product for me. I could care less about the mp3 playthrough feature, I want to be able to wear ear-buds so I can hear the alarms.. my dytter beeps get lost in the noise at times (yeah, I'm getting old-er) I wear different helmets too, so this would be easier DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930
  6. how much longer before everyone is doing this? DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930
  7. pc, bridal and d-bag are all part of the container system. Use the MFG recommended/supplied parts and follow their packing procedure. most of which are supplied free of charge (as far as I know) this is an interesting video on packing your PC to help prevent a horseshoe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axCeYlY_6io I use Germain's method to pack my PC, and show it to others. I know this doesn't answer all your questions, but its a start ;) DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930
  8. I don't know why people (newbies) are so freaked out about hop-n-pops... they're easy, fun, more canopy time, etc... I've been hammering them lately since I got my new Sabre2 DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930

  11. I'm no snob, I'll jump with pretty much anyone.. I'm there to have fun, damnit! ;) when I started years ago, the DZ owner would be involved and make skydiving fun for everyone. If people are not having a good time, they wont come and skydive and if you don't take care of the newbies, they'll go away and you'll be hurting for that one more jumper you need to make a load happen (etc...) ;) give back to the sport, help others out, I'm sure thats how most everyone else got to where they are. you'll ID the snobs pretty quick and they usually hang out with their own kind.. which is good, you'll know who to avoid.
