  1. Didn't miss your point (?). You've already answered that you want one.
  2. L&B offers a visual port for their Optima audible. L&B has an excellent rep in the industry for quality & customer service. Why would you wanna roll the dice w/an unknown??
  3. : http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/02/14/death-from-above-a-review-of-smgs-reproduction-fg-42-rifle/
  4. "Fortunately, replicas are now being made in Germany and Texas." I wasn't aware of that. I've always wanted one, too. $8K for a Rifle, though?? Sorry. That's too rich for my blood. I will look them up, though. Thanks.
  5. "During the invasion of Crete (1941) many German paratroopers died before they could grab their long guns." Many German paratroopers died because they lacked the firepower to suppress opposition. The Greeks tore them up w/machineguns & rifles while the Germans were pinned down w/only their sidearms. A lot of Men died trying to get to their long guns. The FG42 was designed to give them MG42-ish firepower when they first landed.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISKnl1OnI9Y&feature=related Still look like it kicks pretty good. Just as well you don't want one. I recall seeing one sell for $85,000 not too long ago.
  7. I've only jumped four different models of canopy in my brief time in the sport. I'm older, & have back & neck issues. I appreciate soft, drama-free openings. The Pulse was hands down, the softest, easiest-opening canopy of the bunch. When I eventually buy a brand new setup, it will include a Pulse.
  8. Ah, I forgot about that one. He's had five hard openings on that new canopy. That has had to do some damage to, & adversely affected the longevity of the expen$ive new canopy, right? I think I'd be wanting a properly made replacement canopy from PD. Thoughts?
  9. Why would he need a bigger slider? The Pulse is well known for sweet openings, for all sorts of body types. @1.03 under a 190, He's hardly out of the normal range. I see you've got en times my jump numbers. It's an honest question. My theory? PD's excellent, but not infallible. Someone might've sent it out, out of trim or not sewn correctly.
  10. Something is clearly wrong. The Pulse is the sweetest, softest opening canopy I've ever jumped. Get ahold of Rusty @PD.
  11. I was thinking you used something more like Gargoyles, w/lens inserts. I sent a query to your link. I doubt they can properly make a pair in my strength. It'd be great, as my contacts have been giving me a lot of trouble, lately. Thanks for the link. It might save me some money & hassle.
  12. Ski goggles are hot N heavy in the summer. Gonna be cramped w/that Benny, too. A pair of Flex-Z goggles are only about $16, & don't block any of your vision: http://www.chutingstar.com/skydive/flex-z-goggles-3361 Why re-invent the wheel?
  13. "I am not sure on the parameters that those goggles works but this set up is like having a thin lens inside the goggle and it works like a charm." I'm familiar w/your setup. When I used to do a lot of shooting. I wanted to get a pair of Gargoyles. Same thing as you describe. The prescription inserts can only correct to -6.5, max. Not even close to my prescription... Glad they're working for you.
  14. FYI: goggles can only correct up tp about -6.5 diopters. If your vision is any worse than that, like mine is? You're SOL...
  15. I've been using these w/o any problems. They're very secure. http://www.chutingstar.com/skydive/flex-z-goggles-3346
  16. What ? They're helping them relax, to get past the fear of student jumps. I respect them for going the extra mile to take care of their students. They're Altruists ...
  17. IF all of those references are true.... Then, this quote comes to mind: "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/John_Stuart_Mill Thank you for the inference that I am a liar... bless your little heart.. You go right ahead and fight for old Cliven.. I hear he needs all the support he can get. Remember now.... Our history is written in blood... those who do not learn from the mistakes made in history are doomed to do stupid shit yet again. I repeat: "A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." That description fits a number of blow holes on this site. Such POSs are not worth the time or energy to attempt discourse with. I'll not waste any more of mine, here...
  18. SO . . . someone needs to sue her. Charge her with neglect and child endangerment. Set a precedence. Then the government doesn't have to over regulate every one else because of the few that can't handle life. That's an utterly unrealistic, BS reply. Never mind, Turtle. I think that shell has invaded your brain.
  19. Guess again . Their names would be US. I think you're off on some of your food theatrics. It can be done better than the crap food situation, now. Agreed? Once the national fast food corporations sewed up all the contracts. I'm sure the prices started migrating northward... It might not cost all that much more than we're paying to keep worsening the obesity problem.
  20. IF all of those references are true.... Then, this quote comes to mind: "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/John_Stuart_Mill
  21. Well, first he finds a warm sandy beach to bury the eggs. It is a shame so many of the little babies get eaten by gulls and racoons and such when they hatch out... Don ...
  22. I wasn't aware of that happening in Chiraq, but I'm not surprised. Rampant corruption & a school system that's only barely functional. I've been saying the same thing about parents not being able to stand there & watch what their kids are eating at school.
  23. All of which is quite obvious. Where do you stand on the (still, barely) debate?
  24. "When do the parents get to be held responsible?" OK. An example for you, then. Last week, I had a pediatric patient. A 6yoa Boy who was already obese, having health issues from it, & is on course to have life-long issues from it. The Boy's mother was a 450# freak, w/a major chip on her shoulder. I don't think that bitch would listen to baseball bat therapy... So, do we literally beat the 450# freak to death for being an idiot? That'd hold his idiot mother accounatable for the damage she's done. The little Boy would be better off, true. Don't think that approach would fly, though. Bottom line: a lot of people shouldn't breed, but they do. I'm guessing you wouldn't support forced sterilizations. So, how is this small, positive step a bad thing? Do you agree that the Govt. helped create the mess by letting their fast food buddies hyjack the public school food systems?
