  1. BEAT ARMY!! The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  2. Fucking A! The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  3. You got it buddy, that's the big problem with people in this forum, one asks an opinion and he/she gets a fucking sermon from people who don't even know you personally. If someone ask a question, GIVE HIM/HER A FUCKING ANSWER!! If you don't know the answer STFU and move to the next thread. Same here bro, people fucking judge without even know who you are. They just see only one thing: Jump #. Like my friend, NAVY SEAL, he has some 100 jumps and when someone had some wisdom pearls for him because he was wearing a GoPro at a DZ I got so mad, idiots! Hoo fucking yah. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  4. I ordered my Mirage back in June, I got it outside my door in 12 days, and it was held for 3 days waiting for my file to do the custom embroidery! I loved their customer service and I really like the way my rig fits on me. I have to say that I tried Mirage G4, Vector 3, Talon Fx, Infinity, Javelin Odissey and Wings while I was renting, I didn't have a particular preference but the G4 was for me the best fit and overall quality, number one choice. Try before buy, that's my advice. Good luck. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  5. Blue skies Chief, I'm sure you are kicking asses in the after life too. Ooyah. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  6. Money! Everybody I asked, they can't do it because money. Especially the rentals, buy the rig it's a lot of money. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  7. I only know and have been to Skydive Thiene, Vicenza province, but is in north east. Anyway it's open only the weekend but is very nice. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  8. It's also noteworthy that, at this time, the DZ allows C and D ONLY jumpers. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  9. Nice!!! Cool colors! The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  10. Love it, pretty sick in ACU camo! Ooah! The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  11. This is mine, just arrived 2 days ago! I can't wait to jump it, it fits so perfect. It's a M3 with padded leg straps, leg and chest articulation. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  12. AMAZING!! For the next step I suggest to jump WITHOUT a rig!! The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  13. Hello, I did pay $80 last year but it was not mandatory to take a class, if you learned by yourself that would be acceptable as well. For me was a one to one training, plus I could practice packing student rigs all day under the rigger supervision. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  14. They are called EXCEL camps, not one to one free coaching. Check their website for more info. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  15. I go to Elsinore almost all the time when I'm not in Perris. Elsinore has $25 jump ticket, management is very professional and friendly, jumpers too, I really love the place, they also do free coaching camps and you can find Douglas Spotted Eagle, a very knowledgeable wing-suit instructor so you can talk to him for any question you might have. I never been to Lodi, but I can talk for Elsinore, I LOVE IT! The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  16. Then, I agree, because at this point, they should make MANDATORY for all B, C and D already licensed skydivers to demonstrate their canopy piloting proficiency as well at their license renewal. Number of jumps doesn't mean that someone knows how to fly a canopy at its full. How many 'x000' jumps skydivers do only RW and then spiral down opening at 2000 ft every time? I did at least 30 H&P pulling at 5500 ft and worked on all the drills suggested from Brian Germain articles, I took a canopy piloting course and I will take a speedflying training also, I love canopy piloting, for me is the most difficult, challenging and rewarding part of the skydive, in aviation the best pilot is the one who lands the plane perfectly! I know jumpers with more than 1000 jumps that don't even know what happen to the canopy with different inputs, while, me as a noob I do. I jump mostly in Perris and Elsinore and I see how many oldtimers consider the 3 legs landing pattern 'optional', more than one time I asked them why they don't land properly, they just say, 'Oh sorry, you are right'. I don't like the fact that since we are noobs, we have to pay for others mistakes. Some skydivers have skygod attitude no matter how many jumps, 20 or 10000, especially here in this forum, people judge other people without even knowing them, just based of jump numbers. Canopy piloting should be THE priority in AFF, not freefall, nobody explained to me WHY I had to use rears or front risers inputs, what the canopy does in flight, etc, they just told me to do it. I didn't even know that you can pilot with harness inputs, now I do it all the time, I fly a Spectre 190 loaded at 0.98-1.0 and I will keep flying it until I won't be able squeeze anything else from that canopy, no matter if it will takes 20 jumps or 200. I don't care to run the downsize race, it really doesn't matter, I like to feel in control of my canopy, not being in control. Attitude and mentality matters, jumps number comes second. I love the sport but make mandatory certain things would ruin it, again, I will not pay for others mistakes, I will for mine. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  17. I asked Mike from UPT if I can pass the information to my fellow service members and skydivers, he replied that he doesn't mind, he encourage it. I don't see the point to offer a discount if is not advertised; a discount is a form of sale promotion, if not known, nobody use it, thus it will not serve its purpose to increase sales. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  18. I don't know, I contacted the US distributor, UPT, shoot an email and ask, I think that depend to the distributor since Vigil is a European company. Good luck mate. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  19. I don't work for Vigil, I'm just asking around because I'm buying a rig and I got this information. If you don't like Vigil, don't reply just to start a polemic. Thanks The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  20. I asked to Mark at UPT and he told me that with a copy of military ID we can get 10% discount from a Vigil AAD. This is his response: "Thomas, UPT offers a 10% off ($1,255.50) Retail ($1,395) discount for active duty military. If you would like to order one, send your details (Billing and shipping address, phone number, payment details) and a copy of your military ID to Mike(email removed to avoid spam). He can place the order for you." I thought to share it, he told me to send the word. Thanks The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  21. I'm in the military and I don't see any problem on civilians using camo rigs or pants, or whatever. If some military guy has something to say I'd find it silly! :-) Sometime I wear a SEAL's t shirt but I don't pretend to be a SEAL, right? Buy whatever you like bro and have fun! The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  22. It's on number two drill: Practice flare, five with eye closed. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  23. Thanks, I really appreciate your advice, as I said, it's not me but a friend who was interested in some way to log hours. I have no idea about pilots ethics and "do's/don'ts", I will be happy to tell him what you just said. I'm just the messenger, not the envelope, but people here sometime don't read the whole posts. :-) Thanks The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  24. I have a friend with commercial, twin engine and instrumental rating, he'd like to fly for free at some DZ to log hours, does anyone has any suggestion, tips, etc on where and IF DZ's let do this? We are located in Southern California. He asked me to check at some DZ's but it doesn't seem like they need a pilot, not even for free. Thanks for any advice. The mind is like a parachute: If you don't open it, it doesn't work.
  25. I'm originally from Bassano, a nearby town but I learned to skydive in US, so it was a pleasant surprise to see how well organized they are. There are great and nice people, the Italian champions and other extremely experienced people, they made me feel like home immediately and they have very good rental rigs and canopies for everybody taste. Ticket was EUR 21 and rental 12 for each jump, I guess they don't have daily rentals. They only thing I didn't like is that they must shut down the airplane from 11am to 2-3pm because the whuffos complained for noise ( I don't know who, is in the middle of fields!) Grazie a Gianni e Armido, can't wait to come back! CIAO!
