  1. As soon as you get a clue, and start being honest with yourself, DZOs, and the jumpers around you. I'm guessing it will be 3 to 5 years. Mad skillz 4 life.
  2. Nope, not misplaced. I don't like the OP, so I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to point out some of his shortcomings. He posted in several threads with some very strong opinions, contrary to what more experienced jumpers might think. He then went on to defend those opinions with a very cavalier attitude toward safety, and skydiving in general. He statesd several times that skydiving was 'uncool' because of some rules or regualtions, and that BASE jumping was the answer. He then admitted to lying to a DZO in order to jump a wingsuit when he had less than the reccomended 200 jumps, and even suggested that same course of action to another junior jumper. There's a case of skydivign suddenly being good enough for him when he wanted to try out a wing suit. Then, he posted because he lacked the expereince to tell if his three rings had been properly built. Again, he turned to 'uncool' skydivers for help because somehow us rule-laden jumpers know more about gear than he does. Finally, it's this rigger issue. He's in Pittsburg, within shouting distance of the legendary DPRE Dave DeWolfe, and long time, highly-regarded master rigger Moe Viletto, and the guy has to post online, again falling back on the skydivers he belittled, looking for help locating a rigger. None of this mentions the 6 or 8 other riggers living in or around Pittsburgh. So yeah, some anger, but not related to childhood and not misplaced. I just have no patience for those who want to show up and act like an ass, and then turn around and expect help, sometimes even with remedial topics like proper assembly of a 3 ring. So if he wants to act that way, I'll be sure to call him out on it every time. My bet is that the guy has around 100 or 120 jumps total, probably has never jumped anything but a Manta, and probabaly doesn't even know how to pro-pack. Despite that, he wants to act like a big shot, so let him try and then watch him fail. Right on buddy. When are we doing a jump together?
  3. Hey all, I have been trying to find a professional rigger, but to no avail with the winter and all. I just need a small 2x2 patch and some velcro sewn on (already have the old velcro taken off.) Anyone in the PA/OH/WV area who has a sewing machine and some rigging knowledge that would be willing to help? I am in pittsburgh and can travel a good bit... and I pay cash. Thanks!

Terrible dialogue?? 99 percent of my exit sayings on base jumps are from that movie. "Are we going to jump or jerk off?" (then jump) "100 percent pure adrenaline!" "little hand says it's time to rock and roll!" (personal fav) Exactly! When was the last time you heard something said on the exit point that wasn't corny as fuck? Last one I heard that wasn't corny was... "3... 2... 1.... I FUCK GOATS!"

  6. I did... the cops are holding onto it indefinably now. You'll find that there are tons of riders on here. You are not alone!
  7. Exactly. Whenever you think you are about to hit the ground, wait 3 seconds, then pull.
  8. oh boy, another youtube wingsuit wannabe. Welcome! This forum won't help you till you get some skydives in, in all honesty. Phrases like "riser turn", "pro-pack", and "doing a 3 way with two older dudes" mean nothing until you get your feet wet and actually jump.
  9. You obviously have never had a quick shag with someone BA. It's totally worth it.
  10. I can tell you that this one actually happens and just so it's known: "come here often?" is NOT a good pick up line there I got a date in a free clinic once. I was on my way out, and there was this hot chick on her way in. We chitchatted and I gave her my number and said "if we both turn up std free, you should come back to my place and shag." Needless to say, I am std free. And that line works every time. I can tell you that it didn't work in "his" case.... but then again, it might be different if you had tried to pick up the doc that was seeing you and she knew why you were there. I totally could have picked up the doc too. I wasn't there because I sleep with nasty girls and don't use a condom, I was there because I got a few tattoos in third world countries and wanted to make sure I was aids free. You could tell in her eyes she thought it was BA.

  12. No wonder. They probably still pack for you. Come back when you try 10 jumps in a day packing for yourself. It's a workout.
  13. It's been done before. not cool, not original. You should beat Jeb in the first wingsuit landing. Then, you will be cool and hopefully get as many friends as he has.
  14. I had to fill out a CV for a job a couple weeks ago. It was retarded. They even asked the stupid essay questions. My favorite was "what would you do if you won a million dollars?" I put "Two chicks at the same time, man." My now boss is a office space fan, and hired me on the spot.
  15. Easy way out of that. Lie about your jump numbers, and experience level. Just say you have "mad skillz" and everyone will want to jump with you. Hell, they will have to make a waiting list. Have fun!
