So I'm a big lad and I fall freaking fast. It's getting a bit boring being base every jump and my buddies are having to go into stand to stay up with me on the odd occasion. So one of my fellow jumpers has suggested if I'm not going to loose a large amount of weight anytime soon that I should try using camera style wings to slow me down. He also reckons it could help me fine tune my position. I say baloney. It's just going to give me a false temporary advantage and short term solution for the odd jump but not a long term solution. I have the slowest suit I could get made and I'm doing all I can to fly big. But I'm nor sure wings are the answer are they ?

I'm onto my second suit now. Angela has delivered both suits to a exacting standard with amazing service. I can not fault this companys products and would highly reccomend them.

Thanks SuperGirl. I'm aproaching this one in the same way I aproached my aerobatic flying career. I bought myself a Pitts special before I had even got my basic Private pilots licence. I'm sure had I not bought it I would never have gotten around to getting to be an acomplished aerobatic pilot and may have just settled for flying a cessna around from a to b . The Pitts gave me a goal and somthing to work towards. The Raptor in the locker will spur me along to jump more and get accomplished. Im not the type of personality who would run before he can walk but I do need goals. I'll be getting my time on de tuned wings and training and coaching and aproaching it with caution. But its nice to know I have a wing ready and waiting for when my instructor is ready to let me on it. Just my approach and Im sure its not everyones cup of tea but its an approach that works for me.

Thanks for the feedback people. This is going to be a suit that will sit in the back of the locker for sometime yet. I'm very much a beginer and do not intend jumping it for some time yet. I aspire to flocking jumps and I'm hoping this will be good enough come the time i'm ready.

They are spare risers that have sat around in my locker so i'm selling them. One prospective buyer is keen to know if the rings are Cadmium because he wants to use them on an older rig? Perhaps someone can shed some light here a to why he wouldn't want stainless steel rings?

Can anyone tell me what metal these risers are made of? is it cadmium metal.

Iv'e tried several suits now and I'm still searching for the ultimate chunky jumpers freefall suit. I'm 5ft 8" 230 lbs jumper that is struggling to not sink out on most RW jumps. Can anyone reccomend a suitable jump suit. Iv'e been jumping poly cotton suit from Original Lizard and Freak N suit. But I still want to get a slower fall rate. I'm working on the diet but is there anything else that could help? does anyone know of a successfull suit design for heavy fallers. Arm Cuffs? do they work? Im not wanting a ballon suit but a really well designed suit with a combination of slow fall material.

Has Atair gone out of buisness ? The link does not work www.atairaerodynamics.com and the other link www.atairaerospace.com only shows the military kit not any sport gear. I was keen to look at the atair Cobolt as a replacment canopy.

Perhaps I'll look at mounting the HC1. Iv'e not looked at mounting options. Any tips? Its a clumsy camera with the wide angle lens on. I'm thinking top mount?

Thanks for that. Can i ask what the issues are with the HC9 and why you would still favour my HC1? I never mounted my HC1 as I used it for other applications and stuck with my 101 in my Rawa Helmet box. Can you recommend a good mount/box for the HC1. Its pretty heavy and clumsy which is another reason I havn't jumped it to date.

i have a Sony HC1e and I'm wondering if its worth trading upto the Sony HC9? Would that be considered a trade up? I'm also wondering if I could get a mod on my Rawa helmet to accomodate a diffrent camera box other than the PC101 that it has on it at the moment?

Iv'e been laid up with injuries for a while and not jumped my camera for the last 2 years. I need to replace my Sony PC101 which is no longer working. I'd like to keep a similar same size so I can use it in my Rawa helmet. Can anyone recommend a replacement? or does anyone want to sell me an unwanted pc101?

I used to jump at Sebastian a bunch and ahve jumped at Zhills and Deland. Perris always had a good vibe when I was there. Is there a new kid on the block yet that Iv'e been missing out on?

Depends, are you using Mac or PC ???

I'm just using imac movie for now which is a simple inexpensive piece of software but very easy and perfectly good enough for putting music, fades and titles to clips. A package arrived for me in the post this morning it is a widget which I plug into the lanc socket of my PC 5 and once I press the button it sends a signal to the Camera enabling the DV in.It cost me about $100 but it has solved the problem and its cheaper than me buying an NTSC camera. It seems that us brits are being screwed by regulatory bodies again there is obviously no technical reason why my camera could not have been supplied enabled in the first place. Anyway if any other brits or PAL users out there are experiencing the same problems drop me a line [email protected] and I will put you in touch with the solution.

I have recently bought a UK pal version of the PC5, I have only just learnt that the fire wire function is one way and once I have edited the footage on my Mac I am unable to record it back onto tape using the camera. Has anyone else come up against this I know it's not the case on NTSC versions. Can I override it on the PAL version. I look forward to any help.
