  1. Any of you jump a Volt as your main Wingsuit canopy. Pros, cons? Thanks
  2. Interestingly I did not even notice that there was a wingsuit section on dz.com. Lots of info there. Thank you
  3. Hello, I am transitioning into wing suiting. I grew up on a Spectre and am pretty comfortable with them. However, I am stuck between the Spectre 150 vs Safire 2 150 as mains. If you have any experience with both please let me know. My #1 goal is soft openings. From there you have the 7 cells versus 9 cell and glide angle (Etc). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Altimaster N3

I was supper excited about this altimeter as it had everything I wanted. Unfortunately, my experience with it has been horrible. I've had this for over 1 yr now the NMU is still not working (PC and MAC), and poor battery life. The costumer service is very poor. I have called and sent them numerous e-mails with no responses. Would not suggest this Altimeter or company to anybody. Will not buy from them again.
  5. Good old beef jerky. They love smoked meats. Good luck.
  6. I actually increased my activation altitude to 1500 ft. Two things you need to keep in mind. First, is your responsibility to advise everybody that your activation altitude is higher especially when doing big ways. Second, you have to adjust your openings to account for the new activation altitude. For example, I pull at 3000ft no matter what. That way I have 1500 ft just in case. This correction was done over a year ago and as of yet I have not had any issues. I like the extra +450ft, but that's just me.
  7. Spectre all the way. Lots of people jump Sabre 2s, and even though they are better now they still have a tendency for hard openings at times. I have just under 180 jumps on my Spectre and every opening is like a cushion. Plus, it is fun to fly.
  8. Excellent! I was just going to report him too. Got a e-mail just like you posted.
  9. I have not heard of any but I would be interested in such passes too.
  10. Well, after some uneventful skydiving on Wednesday I woke up with a horrible hang over on Thursday morning (No drugs involved). With that, some muscle aches, nausea, and dizziness. To keep the story short I was diagnosed with “altitude sickness.” NO JOKE :( At this point I am out for a week, and I cannot even exercise. So, I’ll sit and watch you guys jump while asking myself why do strange things always happen to me :(.
  11. Yes, if my wife asked me too. Without a second thought.

    Spectre

I bought this canopy used from my dz. It had well over 600 jumps on it. Load is about 1:1. I get consistent 800ft soft openings. I even roll packed it and had about 700ft openings. The canopy is very responsive and fun to fly. Glide angle is a little steep especially in higher winds. The canopy is ground hungry and flaring can be a little tricky. Once you get used to it you can adapt and land well. Would definitely consider buying another Spectre since I am used to it. Finally, this was my first off student status canopy that I purchased. I was a little worried since my packing was not good yet, but I never had a hard opening. The openings are really phenomenal and soft. Very forgiving even in the worst pack jobs.
  13. On your next jump try screaming as loud and as long as you can. Basic physics will do the rest. Don't worry, we won't be able to hear you anyway, so go ahead and try it.
  14. I send money internationally via western union 5-6 times per year. They charge a set fee, plus make a little money off conversion but I have never had any issues with them. Hope this helps.
