Since I probably will start learning in the tunnel would belly fly for a year first, do you recommend going with freefly pud right of the bat to get used to it, or can I have it changed/sewn on after a year when rig is inspected and repacked during off-season?
Do they make a freefly hackey? Hmmmm....
Thanks"Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L.

I am about to order a Voodoo and am lost about colors. Not looking to steal, just see what's possible.
Btw, I am getting conflicting advice about V4 holding a new PD 170 and eventually (much, much, later; not stirring the pot). The website says it does but some say it doesn't look good, blah, blah, blah.
Furthermore, will an Optimum 176 fit or do I have to stay with the PD 160 R? (I am comfortable with both)
Thanks!"Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L.

So "shank" is a verb and "shiv" is a noun? F&ck! Now this toothbrush jingle I wrote makes no sense at all!"Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L.

First trip to Z-hills was hooked up with THIS guy. It was like winning the coach lottery. Lukas looked after, stuck up for me, and his energy and passion was contagious. I loved him and the sport in a new way when I left Z-hills. Oh, and staying current.

I thought I was posting this in The Bonfire, not a mental ward or the writer's room on Conan. Sheesh!

I am really into bourbon barrel-aged stouts right now.
Faves include
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout
Great Lakes Brewing Company's Bourbon Blackout Stout
Founder's Kentucky bourbon breakfast stout
oh, and anything from Belgium. :)
I'm a snob. Pathetic, but true. I can only think of washing my hands with light beer.

QuoteI'm guessing he's busy having fun, living life, and being amused people think he's important enough to warrant a thread all about him on dorkzone.com

What about a Voodoo or Talon? They are on your DZ and you can have Sandy or Brenda fit you personally and make sure the rig fits and "my experience" has been that RI stuff fits comfortably and works beautifully."Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L.

QuoteThey have a great costumer service indeed. And I´m glad to say that the good news for me, is that Nancy is building my second 2k3 Racer with magnetics and SPACER FOAM all over the container.
To my opinion jumpschack has the most confortable rig in the market already and now with spacer foam
will fit even better.
cheers
Gui
I appreciate the kudos, but the website is terrible. You cant even see the rig all the way around and choose options or even just see the rig and think "Oh, I think this will work well with my body type and looks like it will fit well."Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L.

The scare tactics used to sell one system over the other are bull.
I could argue that the pullout is safer in regard to the horseshoe malfunction, or that a throw out wears out P/C's and pockets faster (both items which Mr. Booth sells). But that too would be a BS scare tactic.
Use your heads people, and figure out how each system works, and why it does what it does well. The choose wisely for YOU.
I really appreciate this. Only after being told I would "go in" due to a throw-out system and the inevitable pilot chute in tow, my first rig was a Racer on a predominantly Racer DZ. What bummed me out was that the owner had a deal with the JS and that he got more money when people ordered Racers.
I needed pure information so I could make a decision for myself. Did I ever have a problem or deployment related malfunction? No.
My next rig was a Talon and I loved that rig. It was comfortable and bullet-proof, but I don't think the throw-out made it a great rig, it was an combination of things, as opposed to JUST the deployment system."Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L.

I remember when I was just a newb on here and we would have these mini-PMs threads almost nightly before bed about wine and life. She treated me like I had been on here for years. She was what few people manage to be, a classy rebel.
Oh, and she would always end our talks with something funny, like, "Ok, off to stir up up trouble in Speaker's Corner before bed!" You could feel her smile and zest for life.

Will this be a DZ bike, something for work, or "whenever the hell I can ride it" bike?

First trip to Z-Hills and jump out of Mr. Douglas (aging myself) and The Talking Heads "Up All Night" was playing. People were dancing, I was in the biggest DZ in my life (at that time), and I was pumped!

Greetings,
Well, I am back after years out of the sport. While I may be a touch older, bigger, and have less hair, I am also smarter, more centered and passionate than I ever have been.
The skies are calling and I am back. Some of you are friends on FB but I am going to fly under the radar for a bit till I get my air legs back.
You have been missed!
Btw, can I block seeing someone's posts or block them from seeing me aside from just msgs? Thanks.
It's a long and complicated story."Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L.

Post your Voodoo thread! (there aren't any YET!) and sizing question!
in Gear and Rigging
Douglass,
That is just the thing, OF COURSE I checked the website and the sizing chart they had AND I called Sandy to confirm what the website said, that yes, a Sabre 2 170 will fit in a V4.
His response was it will fit but it might not look to good "like a fat girl in tight jeans" (his words, not mine) and then proceeded to urge me to consider the Talon FX.
I love RI, the best rig I have owned so far was my first Talon. Great quality, bulletproof, and fit great. The reason I called instead of just checking the website was last time I ordered a rig I put to big a reserve in the container I requested. Like a typical skydiver, I thought smaller was better and they said it would fit but be tight. Even my rigger said during repack that that reserve was tighter than a nun's, ANYWAY, I didn't want to make the same mistake.
Maybe I will order a main with ZPx. I dunno.
I have wanted a Voodoo for so long and I love RI and want to support them.
