  2. Anyone having issues with theirs locking on GPS? I've had mine for a few years and in the last year or so I'm having terrible luck with it locking signal. I turn it on at the DZ in the morning before jumping to be sure it gets a lock. I turn it on at 9k on the way up in the plane and most of the time it doesn't get a lock until I'm at 10-9k on the way DOWN. Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.

  5. I'm curious to hear from people who have tried it. When I called them a month or so ago they gave me a few very disappointing answers. I asked them how frequently the display updated the altitude. I knew they said the speed would update once per second, but they told me the altitude would only update on the display every TEN seconds. No, they didn't tell me 10Hz, I know the difference. The person that called me may have not known the difference. But to me the alti only displaying updates every 10 seconds is very disappointing. The other thing I was disappointed to hear is that there will not be any sort of SDK. It's all closed. Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
  6. It says on the site that there is a barometric sensor... http://labs.reconinstruments.com/flight-hud-tech-specs/ I've put those on before. I mean how will it be setup specifically for us. There is a mockup on their site but in that example it only shows speed and glide, no alti. I'm curious how that will all be presented to us. Will we be able to change it?   8. I hope Jeb/Recon can chime in or something. I'm curious what the data will look like on the HUD. I saw the mockup on Engadget but the Recon page says it will have altitude as well, which isn't on the Engadget mockup. I'd love to see how all of the data will be presented. As well as what kind of options/settings will exist. I also see that there is a barometric pressure sensor in it which is a good sign for the altimeter not being GPS based. I guess for ease of answering here are the questions I have: 1: What will the HUD actually look like? 2: Is the alti GPS based or is it using the barometric sensor? 3: Will the whole HUD be on a 1 second refresh or just the GPS? (IE 1 second GR/speed updates but live altitude readings) 4: If the alti is using the barometric sensor will the GR be calculated with the barometric data for alti and GPS data for horizontal speed or will the GR be calculated using only GPS? (I'm not sure which would be more accurate, just curious on the technical details) 5: What kind of user settings/options are there? 6: Is it possible that we can have more than 1 second updates at the cost of battery life? 7: Will it be open source so we can tweak things ourselves?   9. You can also download Paralog for free to view the flysight files. You just can't save a jump log without paying. But Paralog has a nice view for the data. Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
  10. I am curious what people consider full flight. I feel like you can be in full flight without being in max glide. I can fly around, all wings open, legs out, arms down but just flying in a level or slightly head high position and I would still consider that full flight and pull from that flight mode no problem. I wouldn't want to do it head low with tons of forward drive going on though. Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.

  18. This really surprises me. I'm not a CRW guy (yet) but I fly a Storm for wingsuiting(which is all I do). I'm on a 135 which leaves me at a 1:1 and I'm in love with that canopy. I've also jumped it with 20lbs of weights on. I always find it seems to have a never ending flare. You clearly have way more experience than I do so I'm not saying your wrong but in my experience it has been a pleasure to land my Storm(non CF version). My absolute favorite landing canopy I've tried so far. I've put about 300 jumps on that Storm and I couldn't be happier. I'm downsizing and bought another in fact. I've let a few people jump it and they loved it as well. In fact most jumps I don't need to flare paste my waist, if I do I pop up. I experienced the same thing on the 120 I demoed. That being said there has to be a technique to it. When I moved to a Spectre I couldn't land it softly to save my life. They were all stand up but hard, it took me 6 or so jumps to change my technique to work with the Spectre. With you're experience(especially compared to mine) I'm hesitant to say it's technique but who knows. Example: This was a no wind swoop club morning.   21. I noticed in my V4 when I let go of the grippers surprisingly they don't move very much. They do elevate a bit like you said but not so much that you can't get around them easily. When I let go to take docks it's always right there to grab again. Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
